It’s been a year since we lost Raj bhaiya. An incredible sign and truck artist whose presence shaped so much of what we do today, he was with us from the very start.
Looking back at this footage from December 2018. Raj bhaiya was finishing the Azad artwork when we dropped by to document his process. Kids from the neighbourhood stopped to watch, chai kept coming in, and cricket commentary played on the television as he continued adding details.
Miss him deeply ❤️
We spent a day with the truckers at Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, it was really special! Sitting inside their trucks, we brewed coffee dip bags and watched them try black coffee for the very first time. Most of them usually get their caffeine fix from chai on long journeys.
Some weren’t too sure about the taste, a few asked for sugar and milk, and the rest genuinely loved it, even asking to keep the AIP x Bili Hu packs. What started as a quick coffee tasting turned into a slow, easy afternoon of stories from the truck yard and life on the go.
These truckers transport coffee from Karnataka to every corner of India, yet many had never actually tasted it themselves. Sharing that first sip with them felt like a full circle!
Everything loud enough to feel.
They call it Mahaul.
