This past weekend, Alliant employee-owners spent their Saturday giving back by cleaning up the highway we’ve adopted in Stillwater through the Adopt-a-Highway program. 🌳🦺

“Environmental work allows me to pursue a career where I can contribute to projects that protect and improve the environment,” Keara Fehr, Senior Environmental Specialist.
Since joining Alliant in 2018, Keara has played a key role in guiding projects through environmental review, permitting, and wetland mitigation, helping protect natural resources while supporting thoughtful community development. From wetland delineation and permitting to long-term mitigation monitoring, her work helps ensure sustainable outcomes for communities across Minnesota. Her leadership, curiosity, and commitment to collaboration extend beyond project work. She continues to be involved in internal initiatives, mentoring, and outreach that strengthen both Alliant and our industry.

The 185th Street Improvements Project partnered with the City of Lakeville and Dakota County to transform a rural two-lane roadway into a safer, more efficient four-lane urban corridor that supports drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists, and connects the community to neighborhoods, schools, and local trail networks.

Yesterday, we wore orange in honor of National Work Zone Awareness Week! 🧡🚧
To the traveling public, Maintenance of Traffic is often the most visible part of a construction project, but it’s also one of the most critical. Alliant takes a thoughtful, efficient approach to construction phasing by maintaining community access, prioritizing traffic capacity, minimizing driver confusion, and promoting safety for both the public and construction crews.
Our survey crews, construction inspectors, and environmental and ADA specialists are in the field every day along roadways and highways, gathering the information needed to keep projects moving forward safely.
Work zone speed limits are in place to protect the crews building the infrastructure of tomorrow, and to help you get home safely today. Please follow posted speed limits so construction workers and field staff can do the same.👷♀️👷

We know that thoughtfully designed public spaces provide access to green infrastructure, improve walkability, support environmental resilience, and create meaningful places for people to gather.
That is why projects like Stowe Avenue Plaza, in Orange Park, Florida, are so important. When complete, the transformation will reimagine the corridor as a pedestrian-focused environment through a partial roadway closure, creating space for a vibrant public plaza.
