10 years. That is a decade. I started this so that I would be able to give the passion and my all to the artists and actually be a part of the team on MY TERMS. I am and always have been a lover of music in all genres. I am a college drop out who found my way to what was my calling. I promised my mother 16 years ago when I quit a good job in fashion, that I would not let her down. That whatever perception she had being a Latina mom had of me working with “rockstars” and in Hollywood was not real. I spent sometimes weeks without calling her, but it was because I did not want her to hear me when I was down, about to throw the towel in. PR is a tough and competitive career. How many times did people shut the door on me. How man times did calls and emails not get returned. When you are starting out it takes the life out of you. But then the magic happens when you score your first print piece, your first TV booking, your first award show, your first GRAMMY™ nominated artist. That was what kept me going. I have put blood sweat and tears, SO MANY TEARS into this career. (you can ask my husband how many nights I have gone to bed crying) I have sacrificed time with my family, my mental and physical health, friendships and so many important moments for this career. But this is where I was supposed to be all along. Grateful to all who have been a part if this story, the artists, managers, labels and specially the media who have supported me and let me push the envelope and barriers till they said ok. Grateful for all of those who have been a part of my team during this journey. Specially my Tiffy @thetiffnicole , who through thick and thin was always my loyal warrior. Lastly, I am really most grateful to my UBER PATIENT husband @theoryofevolutionfitness who has sacrificed so much to hold the fort down and be a double parent while I hustle my way through this crazy journey I am on. In the blink of an eye... she is officially a teenager. I feel so blessed to be your mom. I feel so lucky to have carried you in my belly for 9.1/2 months.. my forever part of my heart and soul and spirit.
