The idea for this collection began with an exploration of the troubling legacy of British colonisation. I wanted to understand how people feel about it today.
As part of my research, I interviewed people from the UK to hear their honest thoughts. Many respondents associate the topic with a strong sense of shame, while others acknowledge its negative aspects but argued that it also contributed to globalisation.
The responses were overall accompanied by a negative feeling about the past, and I intend to work with these emotions to convey my narrative.
