This October I'll be stepping out of my comfort zone by travelling east of Exeter (!) to play some music at the next @bleep_43 . The last one at Hackney Wick's Bath House was pretty special. This time it's running for eight hours across two rooms, with a line-up I'm humbled to be a part of. I'll be joining @sybil_dj in the second room, both of us playing extended DJ sets that blur boundaries between stasis and movement. Carefully tuned, custom installed sound systems in both rooms. Come by!

We have a new record out today on our Frequency Domain label, from the wonderful Amanda Mücha (@muekaspace ). 'Skin / You Make Me Go Under', featuring Surgeon, Datassette and Spatial remixes, is now available through our Bandcamp.
We're kind of on hiatus with FD at the moment, but it's our tenth anniversary this year so we wanted to mark the occasion with something special. This EP has been in the pipeline for quite a while and we're really happy with how it's turned out. Thanks to @tony_surgeon , @datassette and Matt Spatial for a great set of remixes - and to Argentine artist Marco Ortolan for letting us use his painting for the cover art, which really hits the spot for this one.
Huge thanks to everyone who's supported FD over the last ten years and enabled us to do what we do while keeping well away from the streaming services model. And thanks to all the amazing artists who have trusted us to release their music. We're really stoked with the catalogue that's been built up - it wouldn't be much of a label without you.

Brand new collaborative album from Ali Wade (Frequency Domain) and Ralph Cumbers (Bass Clef, Myriad Myriads) out on Old Technology Records today.
I think they describe it best:
"Beachcombed melodies wash up on unknown shores and strange flowers bloom at the high water line. Rum and reverb, if you will."
Highly recommended (obvs).
Cop it via the link in the blinking bio!
We will once again be in Ali Wade’s capable hands to create that all important continuous flow of music between our live guests on the 18th May. As ever, we hope you will be able to achieve full immersion in the music throughout this event, and we can think of few DJs more adept at making that possible.
As well as a talented synthetist in his own right and founder of the wonderful @frequencydomain label, Ali’s decades of DJing experience and ability to draw the right record at the right time are always in evidence as he helps listeners on their journey through the musical proceedings.
His latest mix for @___theobservatory___ has been on repeat here and pulls together much of the music he played at our last event: /totheobservatory/the-observatory-ali-wade

Celebrated half a century of existence today by crisscrossing West Penwith with Dr Rosa Gleave in search of quoits, holy wells and other megalithic Cornish wonders. Sun made a rare appearance too. Feeling nicely recalibrated. 10/10 :)
Very excited to be back in London to play music at the next @bleep_43 deep listening event, at the incredible Jacksons Lane arts centre on 18th May. The live acts for this one are truly something - Bristol visionary @dj_krust (with a multichannel performance created specially for the venue), one of my absolute favourite musicians @jojohnson.tinysilences , plus the UK live debut of @material_object - which promises to be deeply psychedelic and I'm totally hyped for.
I'll be DJing between the acts once again, trying to keep everyone as horizontal as possible :)
Thanks to @bleep_43 for asking me along once more - this one's shaping up to be pretty special.

For our last mix of the year, we warmly welcome a very talented synthesist, DJ, and co-founder of the Frequency Domain label, Ali Wade.
Some words by Ali:
“The Observatory has had a really great first year, hosting many go-to mixes for me, so I feel humbled to round off the series in 2023. Thanks to Jay for the invite and to all the previous contributors for setting the bar so high.
As the world grows exponentially more complex and unjust, music is ever the stabilising force. In November this year I was invited by the Bleep43 crew to DJ alongside some incredible artists at an event in east London - this mix pulls together a lot of the music I played that day, including many tracks from the label I co-run, Frequency Domain. Recorded one afternoon while in bed with a cold, I hope it puts you in a good place.”
