Would you like a cover reveal? Here's one! TRASHLANDS is coming out for the first time in paperback on November 1, 2022 and @harpercollins@_mira_books_ gave it a spiffy refresh for the occasion. I love the new font and am very glad they kept the bisexual sunset flood lighting. This is my first paperback after my first-ever hardcover release so stay tuned for what I do with it ( I don't know-- parties and readings?!).

Slowly returning to the world after being down for the count with edits and exhaustion. That includes a Buffy/Gilmore Girls marathon with two old friends who are also introducing me to The Tenth Kingdom. Everything is connected, so naturally there's a kingdom in my story too.
Driving almost four hours for a school visit directly after turning in edits for my next book, work I've spent weeks intensely focused on, wasn't the best idea I've ever had. But it was worth it. Any of my friends who teach at the college level, if you feel discouraged about literacy and art right now, go talk to a library full of middle schoolers. Some of the best questions I've had in a long time, a lot of kids hard at work at their own books and illustrations, and absolutely worth the rest days.
You better clear off multiple spots on your shelf because the first in my Labyrinth meets The Magicians inspired series is coming next year from @wednesdaybooks@macmillanusa I don't think you're ready for how real this fantasy gets. I, the writer, definitely was not.

Our cat's face listening to me read my entire next book aloud to him. Again. It's the only way I can work since having neuroinflammation. But it's worth it. There's power in writing things down. And there's a hell of a lot of power in reciting them like a spell.
