Another in my smaller painting series of original abstracted landscapes. Cool greens provide a calming view of an imaginary mountain vista. This freely formed, expressive painting came so easily; I was inspired by a single pussywillow branch that was in a bigger bouquet of flowers. I made it my own by selecting purples, oranges and other colors not present in the original buds. Small accents of charcoal interplay as well. This painting is smaller in size ( 12” x 12 ”) but big in abstracted personality. Meet “ Willow Buds”. Now available in my studio or if you DM me!
Here I’m showing you a glimpse of the progress and not just the finished “ pretty “; as most paintings I create change, evolve and have many other “ paintings “ under them until it feels whole, complete. The act of creating, and then redoing the layers, changing the colors, adjusting the composition and even turning around the orientation of the canvas are all as important as picking up the paint brush initially. That first mark gets me going but rarely seen in the final result. That is my way to work. Art is messy ! #abstractartwork #abstractartist#riverartsdistrictartists #riverartsdistrictasheville #riverartsdistrict
