The mysterious Huayao Dai people
have long dwelled in secluded, deep river valleys.
Wearing umbrella-shaped bamboo hats,
they move gracefully through the landscape—
singing aloud for the mountains,
dancing with joy for the rivers.
Shadows of their hats drift like clouds and glowing hues;
their steps are light, like water, like wind.
In the stillness of heaven and earth,
they speak through dance,
telling of a life in harmony with nature.
