Few weekends ago I got to celebrate the book launch of Iconic Hikes Hong Kong with friends and family 🥰 and it’s only fitting that I brought them to one of my favourites hikes: Braemar Hill, more specifically Red Incense Burner Hill. I think it’s the epitome of what it means to hike in HK - an array of terrain with an amazing view at the top all within 20 mins. I remember back in high school we would have to rely on Wordpress blogs for directions. Because cellular service was non existent, we had to screenshot each part of the blog and just hope that we would be able to photo match the trail we saw in front of us with the picture we saw on our phones lol And I think it’s the journey and thrill of it all that ****eventually**** led to the creation of Iconic Hikes Hong Kong 😊 all those moments of getting lost, finding our way, maybe missing a non existent turn point … ahahahah Thank you @notjustaheadshot for these gorgeous photos and @coffee101hk for providing a space for a nice relaxing coffee afterwards (it’s literally 5 minutes away from the trailhead!!) I got to develop 𝐈𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐇𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐨𝐧𝐠 as part of the mentorship program with @ownacademy and @sohohouse Hong Kong. As another procrastinator I definitely am someone that needs deadlines and structure to get things moving - I love creating, so, I’m super thankful that I got the chance, space and resources to bring my creative idea to life 🥰 I got to become an expert in print outputs, CMYK RGB DPIs, things I never got in touch with as someone who used to work in film. I love immersing myself in new things. Now, I can claim a level slightly above an amateur in shopify web design 🤩 special thanks to my mentor of the program, Horris Tse (ht___here, @horristse ) who put a pause ✋🏼 on my perfectionism when necessary 😇 and the support and kind words of many others along the way ☺️ your support means more than you know 😏
