We got together last weekend at Wandlebury to do some of their favourite things to do together: looking for bugs, climbing trees and collecting sticks. It was extremely wholesome and can confirm I got my steps in!

I've had a few new followers lately so I thought it would be good to show my face!
I'm Alice. I've been a photographer for about 12 years now and I've got a gorgeous, curly, little three year old called Ivy and two cats called Magnus and Mabel. We have lived in Saffron Walden for four years.
Me and Ivy's dad moved here from Walthamstow back in 2022 having lived through Lockdown there without a garden. A greener and smaller community was calling us and we settled on Saffron Walden after discovering it was a vastly improved place for young(ish) people than I remembered it being as a sulky teenager visiting my grandparents.
I still work a lot in London shooting mainly corporate work (think conferences and events and headshots) but I also go as an excuse to spend time in the city. I dislike the tube and will walk where I can, the streets are far more interesting and I like how in lots of them it's not hard to imagine what they would have looked like hundreds of years ago.
At home, when I'm not on mum or editing duties, I enjoy cooking (recently veggie meals after eating lots of these at @pauseprojectclub ), singing in my lovely choir, listening to Radio 4 dramas and trying to improve my strength through weight training. I'm also trying to instil a habit of cold water swimming but now it's not 26 degrees in August anymore I'm not 100% sure this will last. I'll keep you posted.

As much as I love the happy chaos of family photography there's something really magical about the quiet anticipation of a maternity shoot. It's such a special moment in a person's life if they choose to take that path and one I'm glad I had captured for myself. I often look back on those photos and marvel at that person and how much has changed in them and for them. The excitement and anticipation matched by my complete naivety as to what was ahead of me. All that, neatly stored within my baby bump.

I've been a little unsure of how to turn up here lately. Life has changed a LOT over the last few years. We moved out of London to Essex, bought a house, had a baby (casual) and as a result my business has had to change a lot too. I'm not the same person that used to run around London, camera in hand, for twelve hours straight (though I'm sure I'll be tempted to do this again at some point).
Family life has really forced me to slow down and with that has come an appreciation for more 'ordinary' things, though I don't believe they are ordinary. And, because my business is basically me, my business is following along!
I've been taking on a lot more family work lately and though I have always done a bit of this throughout my ten years in photography it never took the forefront. Well, it's now going to be the main thing!
New website incoming, more info incoming, all in good time, but for now here's a few frames from a recent family shoot with Marianne, Jamie and little Amara ❤️
