Three Lessons from Life on the Road with Alice Backham
We caught up with photographer Alice Backham as she comes off the US tour with @wetlegband to talk about life on the road.
The highs, the lessons, and the small things that make all the difference. From keeping one foot outside the tour bubble to using repetition as a chance to grow, Alice shares her top tips for staying grounded and creative while living life on the move.

Uploaded in three parts cos copyright tried to come for my butt on the last upload. If it happens again then I give up.
Threw all the SFX files I’ve been putting off learning how to use properly on this. Shot mostly on tour in Europe with a sprinkle of footage from London O2, Tokyo & Bangkok :’)
Yesterday marked five years of losing my mum - my therapist, tether to the universe, best friend, annoying as hell woman always rearranging the drawers in my bedroom. The hardest but also most introspective five years of my life, I’d never been so uncomfortable & sad, but also felt so strong and determined.
I had the fear that five years should/would mean I’d be over it by now. I’m not and probably won’t ever be. Last year was one of the tougher years of grief. Annoyingly, when I’m doing great on paper - it’s bittersweet af with grief & she comes back and smacks me in the face at every corner. Her funeral songs follow me around truck stops at 2am in Texas, I’ll have a random cry in M&S while holding the filo pastries she used to buy & I’ll forget she’s dead in Chicago and go to send her a postcard 🤪.
Everything I’ve accomplished in these last five years has been for her. If I let her passing break me - she would rise up and haunt the hell out of me. Pointing her finger at me telling me ‘I come from a long line of strong Irish women and need to buck tf up’ 😂. I didn’t really want to post anything at all, but she deserves the world. I miss u so much, I’m so grateful you knew how much I loved you. Big up Anne Fitzgerald <3
After a month in the US with Let Weg & before a month in the EU with Wolf Alice. I did a week with this gang in Holland, Brussels, France & Germany :)
