Next week I will release “The End of the World”, a new short film on grieving. Featuring a soundtrack by Michael Cranny from @firestationsband and a voiceover performed by @nickihobday , the film is my personal response to a project on storytelling and Global Catastrophic Risk by researchers at the Center for the Study of Existential Risk, in a partnership between @cambridgevisualperformingarts and @cambridgeuniversity The film will be exhibited alongside films by my students and other projects in the Creative Encounters scheme at @camunifestivals - launch event 16th March, link in bio.

I made a scrapbook to accompany my video ‘You are ̶̶̶̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶‘, also on view in ‘Following Seas’. It includes photos and drawings made during the @sailbritain Life of Islands Residency last summer, and some cyanotypes from the Creative Ecology Residency in 2023.

New moving image piece ‘You are ̶̶̶̶ ̶ ̶ ̶ ̶’ currently on view in ‘Following Seas’ exhibition this weekend only at Patriothall gallery @waspsstudios in Edinburgh along with other @sailbritain artists. Sad to miss it, the whole exhibition looks wonderful.This work is a rumination on site, presence and memory, as I revisit and remix material gathered and recorded around Mallaig, Skye, Loch Nevis and Arrochar, including phytograms developed in situ and 16mm leader scratched by being pulled through layers of stones on the shores of Tarbet.

‘A Cherished Man’ by @thinlear is out! This is the last of the three videos I’ve created for his forthcoming album Many Disappeared. It’s the most character-driven piece of animation I’ve made in a long while (maybe ever?), drawing directly on the lyrics in a way I don’t usually do, but just felt right for the song. I hope you like this peek into Andy, Annie and Charlie’s worlds. Full video linked in bio.
