I spent 4 nights/5 days at
@rakxawellness and it felt like a lifetime.
I packed so much (maybe too much?) into my itinerary, as I was so curious about all of the diagnostic treatments and assessments on offer. And it was 100% worth it. Everything from my peri-menopause fears (unfounded) to my dodgy knee post-marathon (lack of strength work), to my brain fog (sleep hygiene + gut health to blame there), to my anaemia (actually, MIA) to the tweaks in my back that I’d been ignoring for years (causing, in part, my gut issues) all got assessed, explained, triaged and given a treatment plan.
I feel like I crammed 5 year’s worth of doctor + specialist appointments into 4 days and walked away with a home-care plan that will address the things that are *actually* an issue, and stop me worrying about everything else.
On my dance card: cryotherapy, physiotherapy, acupuncture, Ya Pao (traditional Thai massage where medicine herbs are set alight on your stomach, fr), remedial massage, relaxing massage, blood age, metabolic age, body composition analysis, functional fitness test, full hormone panel, crystal healing with chakra balancing, assisted full body stretch work, hydrotherapy… I’m sure I’m missing something.
I also had the best massage of my life, ate an abundance of anti-inflammatory meals (that I didn’t have to plan, prep, cook or clean up after) and logged 9+ hours of sleep a night - which feels truly criminal to a f/time working mum of 2.
