We are thrilled to host Visual Voices; a group exhibition bringing together 11 documentary photographers from 9 countries across the MENA region, in collaboration with the VII Foundation. The exhibition features: Roaa Alkaseer (Syria) , Abdaljalel Shbib (Syria) , Alsyed Elsaadani (Egypt) , Waad Saber (Egypt) , Bushra Mohammed (Somalia) , Ammar Yasser (Sudan) , Abeer Aref (Yemen) , Amera Elnaal (Libya) , Habib Saleh (Lebanon) , Forqaan Salam (Iraq) , Issam Chorrib (Morocco). All the featured photographers are alumni of The VII Foundation and members of the VII Community. They concluded the Level 1 course of the foundation’s Visual Journalism Program, led by contributing photographer to The VII Foundation, Ali Arkady “This collection does not offer static answers. Instead, it serves as a space for dialogue, challenging the viewer to look beyond the “visible borders” of stereotypes. Here, the city, the body, and the story are reclaimed. The masterclass is designed for photographers based in Morocco who are interested in developing long-term projects across documentary, journalistic, and artistic practices. The program focuses on moving beyond the production of individual images toward building a coherent, sustained body of work grounded in a clear vision, a consistent methodology, and long-term engagement with a subject. Through the analysis of contemporary documentary projects, discussions, and practical exercises, participants will work on developing project ideas with long-term potential, defining their visual and research position, and establishing a meaningful relationship with the people, places, and contexts they photograph.
