King Gizzard bootleg idea: “Sun Mortar (High Octane Aviation from: Europe ‘24)” [Image: Album cover (not yet complete)] This is a shelved project I’ve been working on which includes the best performances from Gizz’s Europe ‘24 tour. Hypothetical tracklist would include: - ‘Am I in Heaven (Live in Belgium 2024-05-15)’ - ‘Ice V>Hypertension (Live in Bristol 2024-05-30)’ - ‘Hot Water>Sea of Trees (Live in Offenbach 2024-05-16)’ - ..As well as several tracks from the 2024-05-31 acoustic performance. Although I’m sure the band would be all for this (especially since I’m not looking to make a profit off this - all profits would be going towards palestine), this has been shelved as it would feel wrong to make tapers agree to something that I don’t (yet..??) have authorisation to create. So for this to go forward I would either need permission from the band or hope that the band releases enough official bootlegs to create something like this. Hypothetical Tracklist: CD1: 2024-05-20 The Dripping Tap (intro)>Sad Pilot>The Dripping Tap (main/outro) 2024-05-30 Ice V>Hypertension 2024-05-16 Hot Water>Sea of Trees 2024-05-31 Most of What I Like 2024-05-30 Work This Time 79:56 CD2: 2024-05-31 Raw Feel 2024-05-27 Magma 2024-05-20 Planet B 2024-05-15 Flamethrower 2024-05-15 Witchcraft 2024-05-22 Motor Spirit 2024-05-27 Hell 2024-05-23 Daily Blues 2024-05-31 Iron Lung 2024-05-31 You Can Be Your Silhouette 2024-05-31 Witchcraft (Acoustic) 79:54 CD3 (Bonus): 2024-05-31 Time = $$$ 2024-05-15 Am I in Heaven? 2024-05-23 Wah Wah>The River>Road Train 2024-05-26 Honey/O.N.E. 2024-05-26 Straws in the Wind 2024-05-31 Slow Jam I 2024-05-31 Mirage City 79:10 Put a lot of thought into this tracklist - praying I can go forward with this! This project stemmed from me doodling during watching the EU streams which turned into a compilation album cover which I thought was neat Changes I will probably make to the tracklist is including the Edinburgh Gaia sandwich on CD2 as there’s better audio of that gig now. Thanks for your attention! #kinggizzard #kgatlw #kglw Edit: well this prob isn’t happening 🙃🙃🙃 Was fun to create tho

March 15, 2026 marks the third anniversary of Osees Archive, and to commemorate the occasion, we are releasing a free compilation of rarities and demos gathered from our first three years, simply titled THEE OH SEES ARCHIVE. Presented is a series of 30 recordings charting the course of the band from 2006-2013, from outside and within. Contains previously unreleased live recordings donated to Osees Archive by Mike Shoun and Petey Dammit, rough recordings contributed by Patrick Mullins, and demos found on many discs given to us by various donors. The amazing cover artwork is by the Osees Archive Discord community's own Alex Murray (@alezf.vinies ), and invokes the cover imagery of Dog Poison and Warm Slime. Find the free compilation in FLAC and MP3 format on Patreon at the following link, or search "Osees Archive Patreon" anywhere. /posts/153043938 A final note from Artie (@rt.is.artie ), I am so proud to have dedicated three years to Thee Oh Sees. From the beginning, all I wanted was to share the work of this amazing band, and all of this kind of sprung up around it over time. I still don't believe it sometimes. I hope there are many more rare recordings to share in the future, but I will continue to track down every live recording from every era I can and add them all to our ever-growing free collection. Thank you for reading this. Thank you for using the Archive, sharing our recordings and videos. Thank you for being a fan of the greatest band of our time. Here's to years to come! Special thanks to John, Patrick, Mike, Petey, Nick, all the members of the band past and present, Erik, Alexander, Joly, Jay, Ali, Pierce, Candy and Jake, Zack, Shelby, Kit, and all the curators and members in the Osees Archive Discord! Thank you, and I love you all!

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard - PetroDragonic Apocalypse: or, Dawn of Eternal Night; An Annihilation of Planet Earth and the Beginning of Merciless Damnation Disc 1: “Blaze Worship” Red Splatter on Yellow, Disc 2: “Idiot Lizard Yellow/Dark Green Propellor —— [This was written earlier this year, kind of a repost with diff images :P] Everyday this album becomes more real, witchcraft. PDA, which released June this year, is the ‘ying’ album to the upcoming ‘yang’ album and it’s already clear that these albums are going to be very different due to the teaser at the end of ‘Flamethrower’. From what I gather this album depicts a future where oil/gas is worshipped like a god and the story that follows is a sci-fi environmentalist’s vision of an apocalyptic domino effect. From supercell storms reeking havoc on the globe and failed restoration techniques (witchcraft?) this album is everything a Gizz metal album should be. It contains an enticing concept, combines the Proggy elements from Polygondwanaland and the sound from Rats’ Nest magically. Just wish there was more sections like the tool-esque part in ‘Dragon’! Favourite Tracks: Motor Spirit, Gila Monster, Dragon Prog Metal, Heavy Psych

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard - The Silver Cord [Extended Mix] (2023) Lucky Rainbow Wax —— King Gizzard’s most recent project sees them diving further into that electronic sound they’ve been experimenting with for a while now (Acarine/Cyboogie, Made in Timeland, Butterfly 3k..). It is also a spiritual follow-up to the other album they released this year: Petrodragonic apocalypse. They’ve release 2 versions of this album: the ‘core’ release and the ‘extended’ edition. The extended edition kicks off with Theia, which originally was the shortest song on the album, has been turned into their longest song to date. Disc 1 contains Theia, the title track and Set which funnily enough were all of the singles to be released in promotion of this album! (Had those on constant repeat) However, the album reaches it’s high point in the second half which starts off with the heavenly chang’e, which is abruptly cut off by a dark transition into Gilgamesh. Giligamesh and Swan Song are the darkest moments on the record as they feature throat singing and overall sound like a bad trip, and the album ends on the melodic ‘Extinction’. One more thing that makes this extended cut more interesting is the lyrical callbacks to Petro, which corresponds to each track placement. (Eg. Motor Spirit chant=Theia, Converge chant=Set, Dragon verse=Swan Song, Flamethrower chorus=Extinction, etc.) not to mention the melodic callbacks too. Favourite Tracks: Theia, Swan Song, Extinction Synth pop, Electro-Psych (??)

Amon Düül II - Yeti (1970) UK 1st Press —— One of my most played albums! I’ve been listening to a lot of Amon Düül II recently, diving into their catalogue and seeing what they’ve got to offer. Several albums currently stand out to me (eg. ‘Tanz Der Lemminge’, ‘Wolf City’ & ‘Phallus Dei’), and ‘Yeti’ is no different, this thing is a monster! This album is widely considered Amon Düül’s masterpiece, and despite preferring Tanz Der Lemminge, I can see where that claim is coming from. The album starts out with the ‘Soap Shop Rock’ suite (Burning Sister - Flesh Coloured Anti-Aircraft Alarm) which is a multiphased, groovy banger about “Burning Sisters and Judges Escaping” (Quote Chris C. Karrer). Nothing that follows on the album really tops this but their most popular song ‘Archangels Thunderbird’ shows up here. (Despite the fact it’s misspelled as “Archangel” on the label) At the end of the second side, ‘Eye Shaking King’ is a distorted, noisy gem which is followed by an extended version of the ambient ‘Pale Gallery’ which closes off the first disc. The second disc contains three improvised tracks. The standout is definitely the 18-minute long title track, and ‘Sandoz in the Rain’ which is a nice shift in pace and acts as a great closer. If you’re into Krautrock/Psych Rock kinda stuff, do yourself a favour and this a try asap if you haven’t already! —— Favourite Tracks: Soap Shop Rock, Eye-Shaking King, Yeti Psych Rock, Krautrock

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard - Infest the Rats’ Nest (2019) Smouldering Rodent Carcass Edition (White Wax) /500 —— PetroDragon is good, but have you heard this?: A high-minded thrash concept album which details how life on Earth at it’s tipping point and succumbing to the ongoing environmental collapse. That’s where the story should end, but this album is too ambitious to end like that. It involves spaceships, rebels dying on Venus and going to hell and infesting something I think. —— Favourite Tracks: Organ Farmer, Superbug, Hell Thrash Metal

Oh Sees - Orc (2017) Black wax —— (Sorry I haven’t posted for a while - have been busy with work and am on holiday, have had this one ready for a while!) Orc was a turning point in Oh Sees’ discography, it was the first album under “Oh Sees” (Previously “Thee Oh Sees” on ‘A Weird Exits’) and this album started to embrace heavier Krautrock influences. Obviously, they have always been influenced by Krautrock. However, the following albums, ‘Smote Reverser’ and ‘Face Stabber’ (When combined with this album, are often referred to as the ‘Oh Sees trilogy’) embrace Krautrock influences even more as the tracklists progress, ending with the epic ‘Henchlock’. However, Orc is more Garage-Punk centred. The opening ‘The Static God’ starts the album off with a bang. You are instantly hit with a wall of sound created by layers of guitars. This wall of sound is broken through by a chugging bassline which transitions into the verse nicely. This verse reads as if the Orc on the cover is talking to you in a very confused manner. This is followed by live staple ‘Nite Expo’ which makes use of keys and after each verse, makes use of noisy guitars which link in nicely with the next track, ‘Animated Violence’ which is probably the heaviest track. The next side starts with the dreary ‘Keys to the Castle’ which is easily the most Krautrock-influences track on here (along with ‘Paranoise’ and possibly ‘Raw Optics’). The album closes with the instrumental ‘Raw Optics’ which is another Krautrock-esque track which is centred around their drummers, as the percussion takes up a good chunk of the mix as well as there being a random drum solo in the middle of the track which takes up half of it’s 6-minutes long runtime! —— Favourite Tracks: The Static God, Keys to the Castle, Jettisoned Garage-Punk

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard - Butterly 3000 (2021) Blue lucky wax —— After the release of the microtonal KG/LW albums, King Gizz switched up their style once again and strived for a neo-psychedelic synth pop vibe. This endeavour was a successful one as b3k turned out to be one of their most consistent, interesting and catchy albums. It’s a brilliant addition to KG’s discography and, despite the lyrical themes in some tracks (eg. “Dreams” about not wanting to wake up), acts as a positive, feel-good type of experience that you wouldn’t find on many of their albums including “Rats Nest” and DEFINITELY not on the new album! —— Favourite Tracks: Interior People, Ya Love, Butterfly 3000 Synth Pop, Psych Pop

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard - Live in Melbourne ‘21 Red & Green Peacock Splatter —— Live un Melbourne ‘21 is a part of KG’s ongoing ‘Bootlegger programme’. On this 89-minute long live album, they provide a nice selection of performances from their microtonal catalogue. Notably: “Rattlesnake”, “Billabong Valley” & “Sleepdrifter” from ‘Flying Microtonal Banana’ (2017), “Oddlife”, “Automation” & “Honey” from ‘K.G.’ (2020) and “East West Link”, “Pleura” and a thrilling performance of set closer “K.G.L.W.” from ‘L.W.’ (2021) as well as some other miscellaneous tracks (“Fury” and “All is Known”). This album brings new life to KG’s best microtonal tracks with an electrifying, heavy experience and is worth checking out. —— Favourite Tracks: Ontology (Live), Sleep Drifter (Live), KGLW (Live) Microtonal, Psych Rock [Received 9FEB23][Released 26FEB21]

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard - Infest the Rats’ Nest (Live) Red, orange and black splatter on clear wax —— Cool compilation of tracks from Rats’ Nest live from 2019 by Fuzz Club. The tracks are everything you’d expect but I want to highlight the quality of the packaging. The sleeve is heavy, the Obi-strip is an awesome edition and the cover + gatefold has a sick design. Favourite tracks: Organ Farmer (Live in Adelaide ‘19), Venusian 2 (Live in Brussels ‘19), Hell (Live in Asheville ‘19) Thrash Metal, Sludge, Doom Metal [Released 14JUN21][Received 1AUG22]
