The last time I got some shots taken was 7 years ago. Even on the days I wake up tired and fighting a nasty cold (like today), I have to take a step back and remember that I am living the life that 21-year-old me was dreaming of. Nothing is permanent. This path is winding, rocky, and unpredictable. AND. I’m grateful for every bump if it means doing what I love🩵 Thank you @t.d.d.studio for these much-needed updates! Tutu was wonderful to work with, highly recommend! šŸ’« Swipe to the end for silly goofinessšŸ˜‹

šŸ“£ MEET THE CREATIVES: Alex Stroming as Director Alex Stroming (she/her) is a London-based theatre director, intimacy director, and teacher. She loves telling adventurous stories that amplify the experiences of women and queer folx. After her secret mission to incorporate a dinosaur into all of her productions was discovered by the authorities (rawr), she doubled down and founded T. Regina Theatre Co. She holds an MFA in Directing from East 15, where she is currently an acting tutor. Alex is excited to explore the vulnerability and complexity of Gruesome Playground Injuries, with particular interest in how we reconcile with our inner children– or what happens if we don’t. T. Regina Theatre Co.: Late, A Cowboy Song (Hen and Chickens Theatre, Director), My Name is Rachel Corrie (Etcetera Theatre, Director), Scenes with girls (Golden Goose Theatre, Director) . Other Recent Credits: Merchant of Venice 1936 (West End, Assistant Director on placement), No End (Baron’s Court Theatre, Director), Lost the Plot (The Cockpit/Archetypicals, Devising Facilitator). When not doing theatre, you can find her buying too many books, eating an entire jar of dill pickles, or locating the nearest cat to snuggle with. Free Palestine. ā€œI’m not someone else. I’m you.ā€ We’re thrilled to announce our first production: Gruesome Playground Injuries. Over the course of 30 years, Kayleen and Doug’s lives intersect one bizarre physical calamity at a time, leaving scars that chronicle two childhood friends’ endurance through pain and recovery. Gruesome Playground Injuries snapshots the wounds that bind soulmates, drawing them together through brokenness and repair as the red thread of fate connects them across distance and time. šŸ“ Golden Goose Theatre šŸ“… 24–28 February 2026

Director's Note for Late, A Cowboy Song by Sarah Ruhl šŸŒ‡šŸ§”šŸŒ„ā°šŸ–¼ļøšŸŽšŸŒ¾ When I first read Sarah Ruhl’s play anthology as a teenager curled up on my family’s sofa during a school holiday in rural Washington state, I did not know what to make of the second play in the book. I didn’t understand how someone could ā€œoverhearā€ a metaphor written in a journal or how a painting, horse and child could be ā€œinvisible.ā€ I didn’t realize it was a love story until far too late, and then I was appropriately scandalized (as I was taught to be) by the idea of a woman leaving her husband for another…someone. I also didn’t really like cowboys, just in general. Time is mysterious, and Time is what I needed to understand the play when I revisited it earlier this year. A few years ago, I was lucky enough to attend a workshop led by Sarah Ruhl, titled ā€œMaking the Invisible Visibleā€ — no doubt a reference to her famously ā€œimpossible-to-stageā€ stage directions. With my eyes a decade older, my heart a decade wiser, and more than a few self-discoveries along the way, the ā€œinvisibleā€ had become visible. Late, A Cowboy Song has aged remarkably well since it was first performed in 2003 largely due to its unwillingness to assign labels to the experiences of the characters. Sarah Ruhl seems most interested in the characters’ Souls, regardless of what their bodies look like or who they are drawn to love. If you ride outside the city limits of convention, this play is for you. If you feel the pull between what is and what could be, this play is for you. And if you, like me, found beautiful, colorful pieces of yourself–pieces you didn’t know could exist without scandal–a little bit Late, this play is for you. Thank you to everyone who has helped bring this production to life, I am forever in your debt, and thank YOU for sharing your Time with us. Love, Alex šŸŽŸļø Opening tonight! šŸ“@thehenandchickenstheatre ā° 9-13 December 2025 at 7:30pm

ā€˜New Year’s Resolutions: One: Write in Journal Every Day. Two: Read books about how to be a good mother and improve your sex life. Three: Learn to ride a horse.’ šŸŽ Mary, always late and always married, meets Red, a lady cowboy strumming songs outside Pittsburgh city limits. With Red, Mary tastes a freedom she’s never had, and begins a search for the recipe. Meanwhile, her husband, Crick, buys abstract paintings with borrowed money.Ā  Tony Award and two-time Pulitzer Prize-nominated author Sarah Ruhl’s ā€˜Late, a Cowboy Song,’ straddles themes of nonconformity, self-realisation, and daring to chase happiness. ā€˜Late, a Cowboy Song,’ is for all who ride outside the city limits of convention. šŸ“@thehenandchickenstheatre ā° 9-13 December 2025 at 7:30pm Cast announcement this week! ⭐ TICKETS NOW ON SALE!
