My little boy is about to be 2… and the older he gets, the more it hits me what being a father really means.
I think about him all the time.
The way kids see the world with such pure eyes… no hurt, no doubt, no walls built up yet. And all I want is to make sure that light in him NEVER fades away.
I want to guide him, teach him, and love him in a way that makes him feel safe no matter where life takes him…I want him to grow up knowing he got a dad who thinks about him more than he’ll ever know… a dad who’s trying every day to become a better man because of him.
It’s not easy being a man out here.
But he gives my life a different kind of purpose I never knew I needed. A quieter one. A deeper one. The kind you feel in your chest when you’re alone and honest with yourself.
One day, when he’s older I hope he can look at me and feel the love I’ve carried for him since the moment he came into this world.
