She told me she felt bad that she had to cut through my stomach. I was lying in a hospital bed, barely awake, completely out of it when the doctor came in. She said I needed emergency surgery. I nodded, but everything was foggy. She mentioned there’d be a scar and that she felt bad about it. I didn’t really process it at the time, but somewhere in the back of my mind I wondered: Will that bother me? It never has. People ask me if it does, and the truth is… I forget it’s even there. I still wear crop tops. I don’t try to hide it. I’d love to say it’s because I’m proud of it and maybe that’s true… but mostly, I just never let it define me. That moment wasn’t the end of anything. It was the beginning of my comeback. And my comeback became a part of who I am. The scar? That’s just a reminder that I’m stronger than the setback. #comeback #fitness #fitnesslife

This is one of my new faves for CORE and it’s a GREAT workout if you do marital arts to strengthen your gaurd. I suggest starting with a lighter weight ball to get the motion down and then working your way up. 1. 15 reps 2. 15-20 reps each side 3. 15 reps each side 4 rounds #jiujitsulifestyle #jiujitsumotivation @jiu_jitsu_lifestyle #coretraining

Comment ā€œMEā€ if you do bear crawls in your workout! Bear crawls in my opinion are one of the greatest exercises! Not only do they work every muscle but they also challenge your coordination! There are also so many variations! If you want to see some of my favorite variations, comment below! Make sure you follow me for more workouts! #fitness #bearcrawls

Is your goal to get toned? You’ll never get there unless you’re doing these things: 1. You HAVE to eat enough protein. We need to maintain the lean muscle you’re building so your body starts burning the fat so we can start to see the tone of those muscles you’ve worked so hard to build. If you aren’t eating enough to support the muscles it’s like trying to build a brick wall but never having enough bricks. 2. Sleep is key! Sleep is when your body releases growth hormone, repairs muscle tissue, and restores CNS function. Studies show sleep restriction can reduce muscle gain by up to 60% compared to full sleep over a training block. 3. I cannot stress enough how important form and mind muscle connection is. Stay focused in every single rep and THINK about the muscle that is working. Your brain is the most powerful tool that is so underutilized in training. 4. Too much cardio will destroy you reaching your goal to be toned. Especially if you’re not fueling properly BEFORE cardio. Your body wants glycogen to fuel cardio so if you aren’t supplementing with that before your run your body will start turning your muscle into glycogen. 5. Stop avoiding heavier weights! We only see progress through challenge. If you’ve been using the same weights for a while start bumping it up! #fitness #womenshealth #workout
