i'm in the last february of my 20s. feels surreal, but also, i've been so ready to leave this wretched decade behind me. obatala has been teaching me patience, orula wisdom, yemaya + obba honesty. i'm grateful for access to nature + wise elders who continue to show me that all is not lost when we follow divine timing. closer, grounded + more thorough than i've ever been. 🦋💖🪽

eshu has been teaching me some really funny lessons about doors. doors & intentionality. how they open, revolve & close on purpose, whether or not we are ready to see them close.
i have become a devotee of the door. an observer & appreciator of the magic that lies in front, between & behind it. doors close, & we have to prepare our hearts for the next. doors open, & we have to subject our egos to the now. whether a door this year was closed by force of oya's winds, flow of ochun's river, or i myself intentionally closed a door, i was always left with the knowing that all is not lost. because i was found again & again anew, in existing relationships, or by the saving grace of music & making poetry.
i kept finding myself thru all the tears & heartbreak & mess & ain't that divine? to be a vessel thru which Spirit's glory can prevail? that your own story can become a testimony to your own self?
what eshu has been trying to teach me all year long is that, though hard times may come, endurance & joy are my superpowers. they are how i persist to be able to experience the ires my ori had in store for me all along. i just had(& have) to be brave enough to surrender to what was already gonna be.
