Two summers ago, Hans Bilger told me over coffee that he wanted to make a record. As terribly sappy as it sounds, my life changed that day. Working on that album for the past two years has been the greatest pleasure and privilege of my life, not just because I got to play a role in bringing to life Hans’ gorgeous music, but because I made some of the best friends I know along the way.
Over 20 people played on the album. Here goes… Michael Beckett-Fedarko, Evangeline Bilger, Ruby Bilger, Cat Clemons, Daniel Fears, Jenner Fox, Eli Greenhoe, Courtney Hartman, Raphael McGregor, Mou Ke Ni, Gerada Nelson, Jennifer Nelson, Ted Nelson, Adam O’Farrill, Georgina Isabel Rossi, Ethan Schneider, Raphael Shapiro, Sara Bauman Staples, Sophia Stoyanovich, Mosa Tsay, Zosha Warpeha, Lawson White, Gabriel Zucker.
Katie Colford made the incredible album artwork; Laura Hilliard made the beautiful music videos that are out on VEVO. Special thanks to: Griffin Brown, Jen Gersten, Nick Henriquez, Kelly Howard, Russell Howard, Mary Robb, Andrew Ryan, Mary Jo Stilp, Old First Reformed Church.
It’s been a long, wild, fun, intense, challenging, thrilling ride. Thank you above all to Hans for taking me with you on this journey—you’re my brother and I’m so grateful for you.
Ok despite all ^^this^^ evidence to the contrary, words are not my preferred medium, so do me a favor and go listen to the damn thing.
