In the fifty years of playing and living Rock n Roll music. Last night was truly a one of a kind moment. Radio City Music Hall was an experience I will always remember. Forever grateful to Jason Isbell, the 400 unit, his crew and his management for having us on such an iconic gig. Special thanks to Britt Daniel for joining us on a song off of our upcoming album that he and Charlie Sexton co-produced. Scott Danbom and Mark Henne collectively known as The Electric Saints. Brandon Eggleston for making us sound like kings. And to our friends and family that were there to witness this iconic moment. Thank you for all of the years of love and support.

My new album Echo Dancing is out now! These songs are reinvented versions of previous releases. I believe that songs can always evolve, and I’m proud of how this record turned out. Hope you give it a listen and enjoy!
The album is available on double gold vinyl / CD—signed postcards will be included while supplies last. Link in bio to order your copy and to stream.
I am thrilled to announce that my new album, Echo Dancing, will be released on March 29 via @yeproc . The first single “Bury Me” is out now— a song I first wrote in the early ‘90s, fittingly released today on my 73rd birthday.
My original idea was to record an album of new material. But then I changed my mind and thought that revisiting songs from my various albums would be more interesting. I always feel that a well-written song can withstand a lot of abuse. Turning a past song inside out leads to the discovery of new ideas you might not have understood. The songs never seem to be complete. They are always evolving.
The greatest gift is getting to share my music with you all— I hope you enjoy the song and can’t wait for you to hear the full record. You can stream “Bury Me” and pre-order the album now at the link in bio.

Midnight Preserves - Day Five: another incredible night of collaborative, collective musical excellence, highlighted for me by a stomping, stonking and soaring Lake Street Dive & Pres Hall Band version of Lennon & McCartney’s With A Little Help From My Friends, a gorgeous It Makes No Difference, feat Alejandro Escovedo and his band together with the Pres Hall Band (would love to hear & share recordings of these two songs!!!), and Grace Bowers’ inspired bluesy rock guitar rips.

Met a kindred spirit last night at Preservation Hall - singer songwriter Alejandro Escovedo, whose short set at Midnight Preserves was quite magnificent. Final song was Robbie Robertson’s achingly beautiful It Makes No Difference (which would almost certainly appear in a list of my top ten songs of all time), a stunning performance which literally left me teary-eyed and almost speechless. Looking over at saxophonist Clint Maedgen during the song, I’m pretty sure he felt exactly the same way.
Managed to chat with brother Alejandro for a short while after the show, and he kindly sat for a very quick and impromptu portrait. Wish we’d had more time to chat about Mott the Hoople and David Bowie, but these magical fleeting interactions are part of the tapestry of life here in the Crescent City.
