In 2012, my father, Alexander Berti
@alexbertisoteldo , was hired to orchestrate Rubén Blades’ Maestra Vida, and I had the privilege of being part of the process as a copyist, assistant, and score preparer. We had less than a month to craft around 20 symphonic arrangements—a race against time with a great sense of responsibility.
Beyond the challenge, it was surreal to work on the music of Rubén Blades, whose songs were the soundtrack to every family gathering, every dance, and countless cherished memories. Against all odds, we met the deadline (easier said than done! 😹), and the result was an unforgettable, triumphant performance.
Now, almost 15 years later, these very orchestrations will come to life once again—this time with the
