What a great day at the Jackie Robinson West Parade! It was amazing seeing so many families, young people, community leaders, and organizations come together to celebrate, connect, and support our youth. Events like this show the power of community and what’s possible when we invest in safe, positive spaces for our families. Thank you to all of the organizations, partners, and supporters who helped make this event possible for the 21st Ward. 📸: Lanette Warbington

Looking for a productive and empowering summer opportunity for teens in our community? The Chicago Fire Department’s Camp Courage gives youth ages 13–18 hands-on exposure to leadership, teamwork, EMS skills, and firefighting training. Programs like this create confidence, discipline, and future career pathways for our young people.

Some people manage the moment. Others build what comes next. Every day in the 21st Ward is about progress you can see and service you can feel—on every block, every call, every conversation. Focused on results. Grounded in purpose. Moving with intention. Here’s a little perspective on how I show up. See you today at constituent hours. ___ Unhinged Bio Ronnie L. Mosley is what happens when civic duty drinks espresso, puts on a tailored blazer, and decides to outwork everybody in the room—and then build a better room while he’s at it. By day (and most nights), he’s the relentless architect of Chicago’s 21st Ward—tracking potholes like they owe him money, pushing infrastructure like it’s personal, and turning “we’ve always done it this way” into a suggestion, not a rule. He treats constituent services like a full-contact sport: 43,000+ requests? Light work. If there’s a system, he’s optimizing it. If there’s a problem, he’s mapping it, measuring it, and moving it. He’s equal parts policy and presence—can walk into a town hall, a church, a construction site, or a budget hearing and somehow speak all four languages fluently. One minute it’s zoning and capital development, next minute it’s making sure Ms. Johnson’s alley gets cleared before the weekend. There is no “that’s not my job” in his vocabulary—only “how fast can we get it done.” Physically built like he still might check into a game if needed, he approaches life with that same energy: structured, disciplined, but never bland. Flavor matters—whether it’s in policy, food, or presentation. No salmon. No shortcuts. No wasted motion. He’s designing a ward, a home, a lifestyle, and a legacy all at once—charcoal palettes, clean lines, measurable outcomes. Even his downtime sounds productive. Somewhere between reviewing budgets, planning developments, and rethinking his living room layout, he’s probably also figuring out how to make it all look effortless. In short: if progress had a schedule, it would run through Ronnie Mosley’s calendar—and still try to keep up.

This is what progress looks like. Last week we broke ground on the Red Line Extension. A transformational investment on the Far South Side, something our communities have waited generations for. This isn’t just about transit, it’s about access. Access to jobs, education, healthcare, and opportunity. For too long, our residents have been disconnected. Now, we move one step closer to changing that. Proud to see this long-awaited project finally moving forward. #21stWard #RedLineExtension #EquityInAction #FarSouthSide #Progress 📸Lanette Warbington
