My expectations going into this race were pretty low in all honesty, I spent a lot of time contemplating how I’d perform on the day and if I felt ready. A few miles in I made the decision to turn my watch face off, didn’t see any of my splits or my heart rate. I wanted to be fully immersed, no getting in my own head and no distractions.
I ended up finishing with a time of 2:56:56.
I’m still in disbelief but I feel nothing but gratitude and for that thank you Manchester you were unforgettable.
Sub 1:30 has been a goal of mine for a few months now and on the start line in a heavy downpour and sub 0 winds I didn’t think that would be anywhere in reach. Especially after a pretty disappointing attempt in September, but yesterday really felt like one for the books. I had no expectations of running a personal best let alone knocking just over 6 minutes of my last half marathon in under 8 weeks. I stuck to the game plan and I couldn’t be happier with how this race played out

excited to begin the @manchestermarathon block and see what 2026 holds.
The Norfolk Marathon 3:23:26
My first marathon under the belt after a 6 week IT band injury mid training block, I really didn’t think I’d be able to pull it out the bag today at all. This was really what they call a victory lap and it’s left me quite emotional but more importantly this was in memory of my grandad. we were able to raise £685 towards dementia support in good ol norfolk so thank you again to everyone who donated to make that possible, lots of love to you all.
quick 4 day weekend away to get some elevation training up in the mediterranean mountains, some really cool and technical trails out in the sivri dag national park, had a blast running through the mountains here.
