💜A huge thank you to Allen, our Director of Programs & Operations, for firing up his grill for our shelter guests and staff yesterday!
Our team members pitched in with sides and BBQ essentials to make this afternoon special. From ribs and hot dogs to all the fun extras, it was a meal filled with good food, laughter, connection, and community. 🌭☀️
One of our guests shared that this was their very first BBQ and said how nice it was to have something for everyone in the house… not the shelter, the House. Not just people in rooms, but everyone in the house, together.
This is exactly what survivor-centered care looks like. Creating welcoming spaces where people feel safe, valued, included, and at home. A place where everyone belongs, and where they know they are supported, no matter what path they choose on their healing journey.
A huge thank you to Pretty Place Farm for donating their beautiful handmade soaps and lotions for our guests! 🧼💜
We stocked these special goodies in our Share Shop, and the excitement was immediate. These thoughtful touches help our guests feel cared for, valued, and loved.
Thank you for sharing your talents and kindness with our community!
A huge thank you to our amazing volunteer team from @onemain Financial for spending part of their morning helping us clear weeds and prepare this space for more pollinator-friendly and Indiana native plants! 🌿🐝
🍅 A special surprise we’d love to share! 🍅
We have an abundance of outdoor-ready cherry tomato seedlings looking for new homes! Message us to arrange pickup. 🌱
A huge thank you to the amazing donors and volunteers who helped restock our Share Shop! 💜 Because of your generosity, those we serve can continue to select needed items completely free of charge.
We’re especially grateful for the recent donation of Mother’s Day goodie bags shared with guests in our emergency shelter. The love and care behind them truly made the day special. 🌸
Whether you donate items, give financially, volunteer your time, or help spread the word about our mission, we appreciate you more than words can say. Because of supporters like you, we’re able to continue doing this important work. Thank you. 🫶🏻

Last night, our Director of Programs & Operations, Allen Wright, accepted a challenge from one of our shelter guests who claimed he can't make a good lasagna. As you can see, his claim holds true!
Leadership and staff also joined in by donating salads, garlic bread, desserts, and making some awesome flyers to create a fun dinner together. What started as a simple meal turned into one of those special moments that remind us what community truly means.
There was laughter, full plates, and meaningful time spent around the table together. It’s the kind of evening that warms your heart long after it’s over. Thank you to everyone who helped make it happen!
📲Want to offer our guests a chance to try out your own special meal? Give us a call at (812) 422-9372 to schedule a meal drop-off time or set up a time to come out and volunteer!
A heartfelt thank you to our local @crumbl Cookies for generously donating their delicious treats for guests staying in our safe short-term housing. 💜🍪
Small acts of kindness can make a big impact, and your thoughtful donation brought comfort, smiles, and a little extra sweetness to those we serve during difficult moments.
Thank you for supporting our mission and our community!
Mark your calendar for April 29th to wear your denim and stand against violence!💙👖
Denim Day began in Italy in the 1990s after a rape conviction was overturned because the victim was wearing tight jeans, fueling the harmful and false idea that clothing could imply consent. Outraged, women in the Italian Parliament wore denim in solidarity, sparking a global movement.
Inspired by this act, communities around the world now recognize Denim Day on the last Wednesday of April during Sexual Assault Awareness Month. It’s a day to challenge victim-blaming, raise awareness, and stand with survivors.
Wearing denim is more than a symbol; it’s a statement. It says we believe survivors, support healing, and are committed to ending sexual assault and intimate partner violence.
At Albion, our mission is to empower survivors and engage our community in prevention. Every conversation, every action, and every show of support matters.
Join us. Wear denim. Start the conversation.

As we close out National Crime Victims’ Rights Week 2026, we take time to reflect on the impact this observance has had for 45 years.
This week honors the strength of victims and survivors, recognizes the dedication of professionals and volunteers, and raises awareness of victims’ rights and the resources available to support healing.
Across the country, more than 12,000 victim service programs and over 32,000 laws exist to protect survivors, but the need for support continues every day.
At Albion Fellows Bacon Center, we are here 24/7, 365 days a year, walking alongside those impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault. Our services include:
💜 Emergency shelter
💜 Crisis hotline support
💜 Legal advocacy
💜 Counseling and support groups
💜 Prevention education
💜 Support for children and families
As this week comes to a close, we invite you to continue standing with victims, not just this week, but every day.
If you or someone you know needs support, please reach out. You are not alone. 💜

We welcomed staff from the Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority for a tour and overview of Albion’s mission and services. The IHCDA April Board meeting was hosted in Evansville today and gave us an opportunity to network and engage. IHCDA is an important partner to Albion as they are an administrator in Indiana for key federal funding that survivors rely on for affordable housing options and supports to vital support services that impact their economic wellbeing. We had a great time spending time with our colleagues while they were in Evansville today!
