The Canadian Construction Association (CCA) is pleased to support a University of Alberta research initiative, “Mapping the Trustscape,” focused on developing and validating a trust framework tailored to the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. As trust continues to be a critical factor influencing project performance, collaboration, and delivery outcomes, this study offers a valuable opportunity for industry input to help strengthen how trust is understood and operationalized across our sector. The research team is seeking input from experienced AEC professionals (with at least one year of industry experience) through a short survey. Responses will help inform the development of an evidence-based framework aimed at strengthening collaboration and improving project outcomes. Participants are encouraged to complete the survey by June 1, 2026. https://mailchi.mp/cca-acc/alberta-research-study-april-29-2026?e=fc910eafb8

120 km/h speed limit trial has been implemented on section of Highway 2. ARHCA maintains that any increase to highway speed limits must be accompanied by a comprehensive safety plan. Data collected by maintenance contractors show vehicles routinely exceed legislated limits while passing maintenance vehicles and driving by construction zones. RCMP data on Highway 2 reflects that the average speed on Highway 2 is already well above 120 km/h, as tickets issued in 2025 for speeding in the 121 km/h to 130 km/h bands have dropped from 1,520 to 382 - a 71% decrease from 2023. Over the same period, tickets issued for speeding above 140 km/h increased by 65% to 1,639. #FixOurRoads #HighwaySafety #AlbertaTransportation #SpeedLimits #RoadSafety #TrafficSafety #Infrastructure #WorkerSafety #Highway2
