What if you could buy more time?
There’s a familiar thread woven into every conversation we have with people touched by cancer. A profound, deep wish for more time.
More time to tuck your kids in at night. More time to hug your parents. More time for adventures with your best friend. More time for cherished memories.
The wish for more time? It begins with you.
This holiday season, you can help give the gift of time for Albertans facing cancer.
When you support the Alberta Cancer Foundation, you’re funding innovations that rewrite stories. Giving families more birthdays. More quiet mornings. More time to be together.
You’re turning their greatest fear into their greatest hope.
💜 Share with someone who should hear this message today.

We hope you never hear the words “you have cancer.”
But if you do, you don’t have to face it alone.
World-class cancer care is closer than you think. Together, we’re helping shape a future where more Albertans can access the care they need, closer to home.💜

Swipe to read Filip’s story 💜
This Mother’s Day, we’re honoured to share an update from Tour rider Filip on his family’s journey with cancer, and the strength his wife Lisa shows every day as a mom to Arlo and Milo.
“As a family, we have come to grips that this journey is far from over. For now, we are working through our current plan, hoping for stability in her disease and a future return to normal, whatever that may look like. And through all of it, finding countless laughs, hugs, tears, fear, uncertainty, and most importantly, hope.”
Filip is joined by colleagues, family, and friends as part of Team SprouleERCE. They ride for her, for their boys, and for families across Alberta facing their own cancer journey.
As Filip shares, “most importantly, our boys get to see mom wake up every day determined, motivated, and resilient.”

Last week, the Toast of the Town community raised an incredible $605,000 to advance cancer care right here in Alberta.
With funds supporting CAR-T cell therapy – a treatment that uses a patient’s own immune cells to find and attack cancer more precisely – more hope is within reach for Albertans facing cancer.
For Barry Stafford, Toast of the Town committee member, this work is deeply personal. After being treated with CAR-T cell therapy for multiple myeloma, he reached remission.
Supporting this treatment is a way to honour his friend and co-founder, Brian Anstice, who passed away from the same disease.
What began as a small gathering between friends, each impacted by cancer in their own way, has grown into something far greater.
A community that consistently shows up.
A legacy carried forward.
A future that looks brighter because of it.
To the Toast of the Town committee, supporters and partners, thank you. Your generosity is helping move cancer care forward for Albertans today and for generations to come.

Tonight is Toast of the Town! An event dedicated to honouring the generosity of Edmontonians, while raising funds to advance cancer care at the Cross Cancer Institute.
Earlier this year, we sat down with Barrie Stafford to hear the story behind this incredible event. It all began over a cup of coffee, and six guys who cared deeply about their community asked themselves: what more can we do to support Albertans facing cancer?
From that one conversation, Toast of the Town was born.
Each year, they honour a champion making great changes in the community. This year, that individual is long time philanthropist and community leader, Terry O’Flynn.
Thank you to the Cure Cancer Foundation, and everyone participating in this event. We are grateful for your support and look forward to seeing the continued impact of your generosity within our community.

Five years after losing her partner Shaun, Nhi is marking this milestone with a powerful commitment.
She’s made it halfway to her goal of $50,000. And when she reaches it, she and her son will shave their heads in a personal act of courage.
Through the Tour, Nhi has found her way through grief, loss and healing.
Her ride is rooted in community and inspired by the people who supported her and Shaun when they needed it most.
Help us share Nhi’s story in honour of Shaun’s birthday today, and to create more hope for others.

We hit our $150,000 goal … and more! We raised an official $166,420 on game day!
Because of this incredible community, we were able to surpass our goal while the physicians and students battled it out on centre ice.
To everyone who donated, showed up to the game, ran booths, contributed in-kind support, or cheered us on from afar - thank you. And to our sponsors, your generosity made this all possible.
This night was bigger than a game. It was a reminder of what we can do when we come together. Thank you so much everyone, we couldn’t have done it without you! 🎗️
We asked the players of @medstickittocancer one question…
“Who do you play for?”
Their answers remind us of something simple and true: we all know someone facing cancer. 💜
Today, the Stick it to Cancer hockey game raises funds to advance cancer care right here in Alberta.
We’re grateful for their commitment to creating more hope, more moments for Albertans facing cancer. 👏

Medical students will be playing against Doctors in the Stick it to Cancer game this weekend... but the real winner will be cancer research.
Josh Chan is one of the med students stepping onto the ice. This year, he plays for his Grandma.
Thanks to advancements in cancer care, she was given more time. And now, he’s dedicating his studies to making sure more Albertans get that same gift.
Who do you think will win?👀
