Rounding out the Philly sports triplex, we have the Wells Fargo (née Wachovia) Center — home of the Philadelphia 76ers. While the most exciting thing about the stadium is the parking lot’s new automated payment system, there’s plenty of popcorn eating for the drama unfolding inside..
“Trust the Process” has been the rallying cry of the Sixers since 2017, but it’s been especially tough to co-sign this season:
- During the offseason, the Sixers signed Paul George to a 4-year, $53M/year max contract. George is a perennial All-Star but is also 34 👴 — ironically, he is currently sidelined with a knee injury.
- 2023’s Most Improved Player and first-time All-Star Tyrese Maxey is currently shooting the worst he has in his career (based on True Shooting %), including his rookie year 🥶
- 2023 MVP Joel Embiid is *also* sidelined with knee injuries and was called out by the above Maxey for “being late for everything” in a leaked report of a Sixers team meeting ☕️ 🐸
- All three All-Stars are being outclassed by rookie (and ROTY favorite) Jared McCain who is averaging an impressive — and hilarious in this situation — 25.7 points per game. McCain is 20 years old and completely dominating in all facets of life — basketball, Sally Hansen sponsorships 💅, and TikTok dances.
The Sixers are 5-15 a quarter into the season, ranked 14th/15 in the Eastern Conference, and are 27th out all 30 NBA teams in net efficiency.
While there aren’t too many parallels between running an NBA team and building a VLEO satellite, we think “See with Clarity, Act with Certainty” might be a better interim motto — don’t worry Sixers, y’all can use it on the house 👍
In Game 5 of the 2022 National League championship series, Bryce Harper hit a two-run home run to advance the Phillies to the World Series.
“Bedlam at the Bank”, coined by long-time announcer Scott Franzke, caused 45,000 fans to collectively lose their mind. The aftermath registered at 111 decibels — effectively the same as putting a chainsaw up to your ear.
Citizens Bank Park, just a parking lot away from Lincoln Financial Field, is shown in all its glory through Albedo’s simulated 10cm imagery. It’s not the same without its die-hard fans but you can imagine how packed it must have been at Harry the K’s, the ultra popular bar in the park — which will be visible from space with our imagery.
Since the start of the 2023 season, the Philadelphia Eagles have made a few big moves, including: signing Saquon Barkley and adding “cannoli nachos” to the stadium fare menu (swipe to see the truly ingenious invention).
Our simulated 10cm imagery — aerial imagery run through our physics-accurate optical simulation chain — shows Lincoln Financial Field in all its glory, including a clear 🦅 smack dab in the middle.
While you won’t be able to see Saquon backwards hurdle over defenders, Albedo’s imagery may help give some insight into the best tailgating spots and monitor attendance and traffic throughout the season.
For the Eagles fans at Albedo, let’s hope the 2024 seasons ends a bit better than 2023 — how far are the Eagles going in the playoffs? 🫣
