Pre-hunt gear check. We are getting ready to head into the Alaskan wilderness on a brown bear hunt and the Wrangell Ultralight and Kodiak Skinner are getting the nod for the work that lies ahead.
This may be the only video documentation that exists of this extremely rare opportunity in the wild.
A large coastal brown bear on Unimak Island is feeding on a dead walrus as two gray wolves wait for their turn. Notice the wolves submissive response from one hard look in the eyes from the giant bear. Nature is raw and unforgiving. Quite the scene and only in Alaska.
Even apex predators know their place in line…..

A 9.5 foot Unimak Island Brown Bear that was feasting on a walrus! @kokanee_guide_service got his hunters into position on opening day and capitalized on a very unique opportunity. Only in Alaska.
