This is a liger. Dad's a lion, mom's a tiger.
When I first posted this - a bunch of well intentioned weenies said "oh it's on drugs it's on drugs". Nope. There were hours of prep during which neither of us did drugs. He was just super well fed and super tired. They take a raw chicken and attach it to a ground pulley system. The cat does 100yd dashes chasing the chicken at 40mph. A lot of them. Then when we got in the water we played a really fun game where I held the base of his tail, and he swims for the stairs but I don't let him get there. It's like tug-o-war but with a big cat.
After an hour of that he basically thought I was his lifeguard, and submitted. Also he was just a juvenile - 18 mos - 385lb - and only had his baby teeth fangs (3") not his 5-in adult man-eaters 😋
Still though you have to love the instruction from when we swam parallel, " do not let him look at you - if he does he might eat your face so just give his cheek a shove , and make him look straight ahead. "
