We are pleased to present Earth Tones, a solo exhibition by Alan Prazniak, on view February 21 - April 12, 2026. This will be the gallery’s fifth solo show with Prazniak.
Earth Tones is a collection of work that chronicles Prazniak’s time moving his studio to the Catskills from Brooklyn in 2024. Tones refers to the colors of the surroundings, but perhaps more importantly, the frequency of the mountains. Prazniak writes: “There’s a music to them, it can be overwhelming if you let it in. Staring at a giant hill in the distance, listening to it hum, falling under the spell of whatever’s out there. But finally turning your back to it to go into the studio, trying to make something of it.”
Earth Tones will be our first exhibition in our new location at 14 Main Street in Salisbury. Join us for a celebratory opening reception from 4:00pm - 6:00pm on Saturday, February 21.
Feeling immense gratitude for being included this week at Great Spruce Head Island, it was surreal to see moments on the trails that Fairfield Porter painted, meet his family, play with his actual pigments. I’ll be processing this for a while, and thinking about it forever.
