Al_Massimo discovered his love for electronic music at underground parties in his hometown of
Venice, as well as in the UK and Berlin. A consummate lover of house, minimal, garage, funk, and
ambient music, he is also an avid vinyl enthusiast and crate-digger.
Growing up with the sounds of the Pet Shop Boys, Kraftwerk, and Depeche Mode, it was inevitable
that Al_Massimo would develop a passion for music, with the late 80s and early 90s profoundly
influencing his musical style and selection to this day. His early love for synths naturally led him to
explore electronic music, particularly techno.
Al_Massimo’s journey through the dancefloors of northern Italy and beyond evolved into a quest to
master the art of mixing and selection. This new direction pointed him toward a future behind the
decks, rather than merely dancing in front of them.
Never one to be easily stereotyped or confined to a single genre, Al_Massimo’s sets are best
described as sonic journeys, composed of musical gems from various eras and styles. His repertoire
encompasses classics from house, minimal, garage, ambient, and funk. His love for vinyl adds an
authentic dimension to his performances, while his technical skills and exceptional selection ability
ignite dancefloors from Rome to Berlin.
A regular at venues such as Club der Visionaere, Hoppetosse, Tresor, Area City Venice, La Biennale di
Venezia (Italy), Sommer in the Woods, Tunnel (Croatia), and Auberge (Switzerland), he has played
alongside DJs like Onur Ozer, Youandme, Giorgio Gigli, Carola Pisaturo, Leo Mas, and Der P. Toile. It
was a natural progression for Al_Massimo to open his own label, an ambition realized one early
morning in Berlin when he met Francesco Passantino. Together, they founded the vinyl-only label
RoundQube Musik, a project that continues to thrive.
Currently based in Berlin, when Al_Massimo isn’t playing vinyl, you can find him digging for musical
treasures in record shops across the city, always seeking to create sets that defy genres and push the
boundaries of electronic music.
