‘Nightwritten’ acrylic and ink on paper. Lost my art mojo for quite some time, but finding the joy again. #art #painting #acrylicpainting #portraits #contemporaryart
Sevilla birthday vibes. Lovely day out and about on the bike. Now you’ll find me at home eating tacos and binge watching the Diplomat season 3 until the Mrs gets home. Thanks for all the love 🧡
Last year my birthday was one of the worst days of my life. I was so sick I could barely get out of bed, and Sara had a super long day at work. I was miserable and alone. But the very next day I started my treatment and one year later, I’m fitter than I have been for years and super happy. Thanks to Salud Andalucia, my amazing wife and a lot dedication on my part. I’ve just had a really fun weekend, and you can rest assured I will be having a very happy birthday. Besos y abrazos a todos 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
Lunar eclipse to the east, Africa to the south, the lighthouse of trafalgar to the west, and a chiringuito (beach bar) to the north. Magical night at Los Caños de Meca #beach #andalucia #lunareclipse
Sweating and smiling after I started a couch to 5k today. I haven’t run for a long time, and I certainly couldn’t have envisaged this when I was very ill. I thought my running days were over, but yoga and some fancy new shoes have helped to get me back here. Beautiful French countryside a great place to start.
Nearly six months later and the waif in the centre is gone. Recovery has been slow, but now I’ve regained weight, rebuilt muscle, and learnt how to manage my condition. I still get tired, and I feel the cold a lot more, my joints are still weak, but my appetite is back to normal and my bowels are regular. I’ve worked on a couple of shows, but no more back to back touring for me. Lots of recovery time, rest when I need it, healthy eating, yoga, tai chi and not that much booze. I’ve done well, last check up at the hospital, the doctors were pleased with the way I’ve turned it round. Life will be different now, but in many ways it will be a lot better. Many thanks of course to my amazing legend of a wife Sara, without whom this journey would have been a hell of a lot harder. ¡Vamos! Onwards and upwards, ever forwards.
Managed to gain enough strength and energy to leave home for a few days to spend Christmas with some friends. So I can bid you happy winter festival of your choice from this gorgeous beach in Cornwall. Had to go to bed at 8pm after all the excitement, but very happy I made it over here. Here’s to more renewal and recovery in the New Year xx Cheers.
Making up for lost time. I love getting involved with food. I love making things from scratch. I was so sad when I couldn’t even go in the kitchen cause the smell of food made me feel nauseous. But she’s back, and very happy about it. Mezze lunch. Mutabal, lentil hummus, Greek salad and pea, lentil, walnut and soy mince kofte accompanied by home made pita. @fontas01 made the vinaigrette cause the French just do it better. #homechef #recovery #convalescence #radicalconvalescence #foodporn #joyofcooking #healthyfood #vegetarian #veggiefood
This is the time of day when I normally go out for my walk to keep up my step count, and train my legs to be strong again. Today I just sat on a terrace and ate chocolate cake. Knowing when to let it slide is just as important as knowing when to push it. #convalescence #radicalconvalescence
First time trying to ride my beloved bike since getting ill. Control - no problem, I’ve been riding all my life and it’s just so natural to me. Power - not so much. Let’s just say I’m pretty glad Seville is flat right now…😂 Work to do.
