Taking digitals used to feel like the hardest part.
There’s something vulnerable about standing in front of a camera with no concept, no set, no direction. just you. and the truth is, confidence doesn’t just show up. you have to ease into it. warm up. breathe. let the nerves settle until you stop thinking and start feeling.
That’s the moment everything changes. when you stop being aware of the lens and just exist in it. that’s when the magic lands. that’s when you look electric, because you finally believe it too.
I’m so grateful to my agency for always giving me the space to push myself and for supporting every version of me through this journey. it took time to own what i bring to a camera. Honestly i’m still owning it. and I think that’s exactly the point. 🖤

One of my favorite parts of a shoot is the moment the vision starts coming to life. It usually begins with a shared vision board so everyone can see the bigger picture and understand the story we’re creating together. From there, every detail starts to build on the next.
Hair. Makeup. Wardrobe. Styling. Photography. Lighting. Every person bringing their own craft and perspective to the table.
Wardrobe styling and hair are always some of my favorite pieces of the process because they really set the tone. Once those elements click, everyone can feel the vision more clearly and the magic starts to happen.
And when all the pieces finally come together, seeing the final images is always the most satisfying part.
I truly love the creativity that goes into this process. It’s easily one of the best parts of the job.
Also having a great team is always the goal :)
There’s something so special about wearing a handmade, tailored gown. The passion and craftsmanship designers pour into creating such beautiful pieces is truly inspiring.
Being able to wear garments from African designers is an absolute honor. Thank you, @africanfashionweekomaha for platforming and celebrating this brilliance.
Styled in Kenyan jewelry, I’m reminded how fashion connects us to the rich and diverse cultures across the continent.
And to be photographed by an African photographer is truly the icing on the cake. ✨
