Die Schlussnummer „Wenn es schneit“ entstand aus einer Kauderwelsch-Improvisation
in einer engen Abstellkammer in Basel.
"Wasserwelt. Das Musical" ist die fünfte Zusammenarbeit von den Komponisten Jo
Flüeler (@aktomis ) und Moritz Widrig (@mungg ) mit dem Regisseur Felix Rothenhäusler
(@felix_rothenhaeusler ).

Here’s a photo series of the studio's construction site. It starts with the model by the Alarma Collective and goes all the way to the finished recording room. The amount of wood wool we put into these walls is insane. Looking back at this project from the first half of 2024 feels strange. I often experience this after a project—I can’t remember exactly how we did it. Whenever I walk into these rooms today, it doesn’t feel like we actually built this place.
It makes me enormously proud that we committed to doing it. This project has been an example throughout the year, reminding me that discipline leads to great things. You work and work until, suddenly, it’s just there—ready to be used and to make music in.
The chamber hall sounds incredible; I recorded all the Stiller Soloists in there. It has a wonderful one-second reverb that’s perfect for film music and allows for experimentation with mic positions. On the other hand, the dry, linear mixing room is also outstanding. Applied Acoustics did an amazing job (they also designed the rooms at ZHdK and Jazzcampus Basel).
I’m looking forward to the countless hours we’ll spend there in 2025.
