Cologne-based producer @philippstoffel launches his @akte.audio imprint on Friday. Akte (German for “File”) is a new outlet dedicated to ambient, minimal, and techno-oriented sounds. Its first release is a heavyweight 12″ showcasing four original cuts from Stoffel, alongside a raw, dub-inflected remix by @vril_01 . Ahead of its release, we turn our attention to the refracted dub workout ‘Radius‘. Its title offers a subtle nod to Stephen Hitchell’s production alias, hinting at the track’s lineage. ‘Radius‘ unfolds as a deep, spacious dub techno piece — rich in atmosphere and laced with intermittent sci-fi electronics that ripple through its sparse, immersive soundscape. Cape Town’s @deanoknowledge is an exciting addition to the lineup - galloping percussions coated by bleepy techno atmospheres. Warming things up, Akte’s own @philippstoffel sets the tone - laying the foundation for this special night of pure, resonant depth. @akte.audio is a series of events at the renowned Club @gewoelbe_cologne to keep the vision of timeless Ambient, Minimal and Techno in Cologne alive and is now expanding to develop a record label. The first release will be a 12“ EP by founder @philippstoffel featuring 4 originals and a remix by living legend @vril_01 . A modern interpretation of techno with strong dub influences, produced in different styles and put together to form a meaningful listening journey. Akte pursues an EP concept away from pure techno tools towards the idea of packing the diverse listening experience of an LP into an EP, striving for a texturally cohesive aural aesthetic. Mastering engineer @pole_stefanbetke , gave the record its sonic polish. The EP is rounded off by the grainy cover design by Berlin-based artist @friedrichbreidenich , which visually captures the sonic aesthetic and translates the listening experience into a striking visual form. As a resident of Fuse and co-curator of Fuse Imprint, he’s rapidly making waves in the vibrant Brussels Techno community. Known for his meticulous craftsmanship both as a DJ and producer, Altinbas has released on renowned labels such as Token Records, SK11, and Non Series, along with his own label, Observer Station. His work is distinguished by a deep passion for complex sound design, blending multifaceted emotions with powerful, infectious grooves—making his tracks a staple on dance floors worldwide. @fergus.sweetland brings a sound rooted in the fundamental human instincts of groove and rhythm. Hailing from London, Fergus masterfully combines moods, textures, and atmospheres to create a unique brand of contemporary techno. His international profile has grown significantly, with releases on Hayes and Melbourne-based labels Connection Verified, Codec Recordings, and his own imprint, Bomphcast Audio.
