Hi, I’m Chawla 👋
I’m the founder of AKRA, a clothing brand I created focused on fit, comfort and ethical practices.
Initially when I started I had only intended on making tapered joggers, with inspiration pulled from Indian and Japanese clothing.
Although as with most people with ADHD one thing led to another and I ended up creating my first collection in late 2024, launched In 2025.
Since starting the company I've since learned about the scale of the unethical practices in the fashion industry, from poor environmental practices, mistreatment of staff/poor labour conditions and the harmful effort of polyester on hormones and people.
I want Akra to embody my ideals by working with suppliers rather than exploiting them, creating high quality products built to last and limiting use of plastic based materials to outerwear that won't touch the skin and affect people's health.
