Introducing Jho Sadang of @akiosbakery as the first in our lineup of inaugural bakers at Anh Ơi Bake Shop. She brings a Filipino-American perspective as she perfects the classic breads and buns. Fluffy as a cloud with intense sweet milkiness, her shokupan will make you forget who you are.

And I finally get to introduce you to the first of our inaugural bakers: Jho from @akiosbakery !!
Jho makes incredible baked goods across the board, but her breads are really something special. Her shokupan is soft, fluffy, and just ridiculously good - the kind of bread you keep coming back for without even thinking about it. It’s simple, but done with so much care and intention.
You can already find her bread at @kotojellycoffee , @marutashotenseattle , and @uwajimaya - so YOU ALREADY KNOW. Which is exactly why it’s such a big deal to have her here. I’m genuinely so honored she said yes. And she’s not just bringing her staples, she’s bringing exclusives you can only get at Anh Ơi Bake Shop 🤗.
This is exactly the kind of baker I wanted in the shop: someone with a clear point of view and the skill to back it up.
(And YES I microwave my shokupan because I want it soft, fluffy, and cloud-like. Not toasted. Don’t @ me.)

Lunar New Year celebrations are not over yet! We got one more coming at you.
We are gonna be at the CID Lunar New Year celebration this Saturday March 7th from 11a-5p! The celebration will be held at and around Hing Hay Park. You’ll be able to find me and @butterbanditbakery in a shared booth on King st near Maynard st! Will post a map later this week.

Another Saturday Pre-order pick up coming to you!! Pre orders are open now on my website, link in my bio. We will have cream puffs this time around and no focaccia. We still will have the cornbread bibingka if you didn’t get a chance to try it earlier this month.
I’m still trying to figure out the best way to set up these pre-orders. Soo please be patient with me as I work through this while also trying not overwhelm myself.

One of my goals this year is to have more fun and be more creative in the kitchen. I think after focusing mainly on wholesale the last couple years, I’ve got used to the routine and repetitiveness. And I’m not saying that’s bad, I actually really love it BUT the past couple months I’ve found myself craving something new. Something that will give me that little bit of dopamine to keep me going. Hence why I’m doing this Preorder pick up! I will be doing this on a monthly basis and will have a different menu every time!

If yall don’t know already I work with the amazing team at Koto Jelly Coffee and supply them with fresh Shokupan every week for their kissaten toast (my favorite is the An-Butter Toast).

This time around I will be trying out pre-ordering, so yall will be able to pre-order on my website starting now and I will close pre-orders on Thursday around 1pm!
