Do the things that fill your heart. This for me, was one of them.
The exact week that my mum passed, my friend Akim reached out simply saying “thinking of you 🤍” … at that point I couldn’t text anyone what I was going through, so I sent him a voice audio sharing what had happened. I was then greeted with an unforgettable text that filled my heart. Without knowing what had happened, Akim had a gut feeling to message me - at the same time he was experiencing emotions about his own mother. The timing was uncanny!
Some may say it’s a coincidence, we feel as though it was spiritual. After hearing this I had a yearning to come see him that I couldn’t shake, so 3 months later I flew from Australia to Spain.
After spending this past week with each other in Barcelona, sharing our lives, building on our friendship, and leaning into the connection we have - we really feel that what happened was divine timing and perhaps in some other realm we knew each other. Given his ancestry is from Russia, and mine Lithuania… the chances you could say, are there.
The honesty and vulnerability shared during this heart breaking time has now created one of the most meaningful and cherished friendships that I value and hold so sacred to me.
Akim was already an instant friend connection, where when we met, he inspired me to pursue opening another Prim Haus after sharing with me his business journey. Our friendship was a natural spark, but neither of us could have imagined how it’s unfolded and to where it’s travelled too.
Genuine connection, and real friendship is everything. This life-changing moment has had such an impact on my personal growth and appreciation for life. My heart is warm during one of the most hardest times. We wanted to share what happened because we feel our story is worth sharing with you.
If you’re thinking of someone, don’t shy from telling them. It could change both of your lives. For us, it did 🕊️🕊️
