Last week’s “Curator’s Eye: Ceramic/Pottery” Artist Talk + Workshop brought intention to the wheel with artists Akeem Johnson (@akeemjohnson_1 ) and Kyle Gooden (@thegoodenstudio ). Participants created ceramic vessels inspired by Daruma dolls—handmade talismans rooted in perseverance, purpose, and personal vision.

“Curator’s Eye: Ceramic/Pottery” Artist Talk + Workshop with Akeem Johnson and Kyle Gooden
Join Akeem (@akeemjohnson_1 ) & Kyle (@thegoodenstudio ) for a guided session in ceramic-making titled “Vessels of Vision: Setting Intent Through Ceramic Talismans”. In this workshop, participants will create a ceramic vessel inspired by Daruma dolls, traditional symbols of perseverance and goal-setting. Each handmade object will function as a talisman—a physical reminder of a personal intention or aspiration.
Materials will be provided, but please bring an old t-shirt, and instruments for designing/carving the clay.
