We asked. They answered. At the 92nd Central Regional Conference in Indianapolis, sisters from across the Central Region stepped up to the Pink Mic and shared what keeps them rooted in this sisterhood. Their words remind us that no matter the region, no matter the chapter, the heartbeat of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® is the same: connection, purpose, and a love for service that never fades. Thank you, sisters, for sharing your hearts. 🩷💚 Lededra Turner · Lambda Tau Omega · Matteson, IL Ashley Carr · Lambda Tau Omega · Matteson, IL Deborah Brown Wallace · Epsilon Kappa Omega · Milwaukee, WI Florence Adeboo · Epsilon Epsilon Omega · Champaign, IL Dainisha Grissom · Epsilon Epsilon Omega · Champaign, IL Maya Owens · Beta Gamma Omega · Lexington, KY Dr. Natasha Harris · Chi Phi Omega · Lafayette, IN #passthepinkmic #aka1908 #crc2026 #akasoutheastern #centralregion

My dear sisters, My heart is overflowing with joy as I reflect on the extraordinary outpouring of love and support throughout my culminating regional conference, the 94th South Eastern Regional Conference, as your South Eastern Regional Director. Your unwavering dedication, encouragement, and prayers have been a constant source of strength and motivation. I especially felt it this week as we soared in power and experienced the magic. You entrusted me to lead you in 2022, and you reaffirmed your confidence in 2024. Every step of this journey has been shaped by your faithfulness and your willingness to stand with me in purpose and conviction as we work to transform, magnify, and accelerate the South Eastern Region through the power of love. Thank you. To Conference Chairman Tammy Fincher, Cluster VII Host Chapters, Committee Chairs, volunteers, and every sister who traveled near and far to make the SERC 94 what it was. You are the reason this conference will be remembered. Not just for what we accomplished, but for what we felt. In the South Eastern Region, there is a place and a purpose for everyone to call home. To my leadership team and the women who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, long before the first gavel dropped and long after the last session closed: I see you. I thank you. I honor you, and I carry your sacrifice with me. This region has given me more than I could ever return. You sharpened my leadership, strengthened my faith, and reminded me every single day why service is the highest calling. What we built together across Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama will endure far beyond any single moment or milestone. Blessings to you all, sisters, for being such a blessing to my family and to me. With all my love and gratitude, Tracey 🩷💚 #aka1908 #akaserc #akasoutheastern #sercmagic #powerofus

Today, I honor my mother, Callie Morant, an educator and one of my first and greatest teachers. Long before I understood leadership, service, or purpose, she taught me through the way she lived, loved, and poured into others. So much of what I know today was shaped by her example. She taught me the value of discipline, compassion, preparation, faith, and using whatever gifts you have to make a difference. On this Mother’s Day, I celebrate all mothers and mother figures who guide our families, strengthen our communities, and help shape the next generation with wisdom, grace, and love. Your lessons live on in the lives you touch and the generations you raise. #mothersday #aka1908 #akasoutheastern

🌸 Happy Mother’s Day from the South Eastern Region. Today, we celebrate every woman who has loved, guided, and poured into others’ lives with a mother’s heart. Biological mothers. Stepmothers. Adoptive mothers. Foster mothers. Grandmothers raising grandchildren. Aunties who stepped in. Sisters who stepped up. Community mothers who claimed us as their own. Motherhood is defined by love, sacrifice, and the daily decision to show up for someone beyond yourself, building a legacy that extends far beyond any single moment. To every mother, in every form, across every chapter of the South Eastern Region and every sister throughout our beloved sorority: we honor you today and always. Tag the mothers in your life. Give honor to the women who covered you, raised you, and loved you into who you are today. 🩷💚 #mothersday #aka1908 #akasoutheastern

When Pastor Mike Jr. is on the mic and the spirit hits… you stroll. The 94th South Eastern Regional Conference HBCU Gospel Brunch was everything it was supposed to be. Faith, fellowship, and yes… a little footwork on the line. Because in the South Eastern Region, we worship AND we celebrate. This is what it looks like when sisterhood is in full motion. 🩷💚 #akaserc #akasoutheastern #sercmagic #aka1908 #powerofus

🥂 On the eve of the 94th South Eastern Regional Conference, the South Eastern Region hosted a Regional Director’s Dinner at The Club, atop Red Mountain in Birmingham. This evening was a celebration of service, sisterhood, and leadership, and it set the tone for a conference rooted in elegance, excellence, and purpose. We were honored to welcome extraordinary voices to the evening. Danette Anthony Reed, International President & CEO of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, offered special greetings that reminded every sister in the room of our collective mission and the power of unified leadership. Gwendolyn L. Kirtley, Great Lakes Regional Director, delivered a special expression on behalf of the Regional Directors. A Silver Star, Life Member, and retired State Farm leader with over 40 years of service to the sorority, her words carried the weight of sisterhood shared across regions. Blake D. Morant, Esq., brother of our South Eastern Regional Director, offered a heartfelt expression. A distinguished legal scholar, former law school dean, and past President of the Association of American Law Schools, his tribute honored both family and legacy. The evening also featured a captivating performance by MAJOR., the GRAMMY-nominated soul singer, songwriter, and producer whose artistry filled the room with joy, hope, and harmony. We were deeply honored by the presence of our fellow Regional Directors who joined us in Birmingham for this special evening: Elicia Pegues Spearman, North Atlantic Regional Director Nadine Vargas Stewart, Mid-Atlantic Regional Director Gwendolyn L. Kirtley, Great Lakes Regional Director Shawn E. Simmons, South Central Regional Director Kiahna W. Davis, Central Regional Director Anika Wilson Starling, Mid-Western Regional Director Nichole S. Jordan, Far Western Regional Director Thank you to every sister who made this evening unforgettable. The South Eastern Region paused to honor the women who shaped us. The HerStory Gallery Opening and Reception unveiled commemorative banners honoring all 27 women who have served as South Eastern Regional Director, each a visionary who poured her gifts into this region and left it stronger than she found it. From the earliest days of our regional structure to the present, these leaders charted the course for over 14,000 sisters across Tennessee, Alabama, and Mississippi. Their collective legacy is written into every chapter chartered, every scholarship awarded, and every life changed through service. We were especially honored to welcome several of our former Regional Directors in person to witness this tribute and stand together in the room they each helped build: Velma Lois Jones, 13th South Eastern Regional Director Vanessa Rogers Long, 20th South Eastern Regional Director Jo Celeste Pettway, 21st South Eastern Regional Director Cynthia Finch, 22nd South Eastern Regional Director Juanita Sims Doty, 23rd South Eastern Regional Director Adrienne P-K Washington, 24th South Eastern Regional Director Mary B. Conner, 25th South Eastern Regional Director Mitzi Dease Paige, 26th South Eastern Regional Director Dr. Tracey Morant Adams, 27th South Eastern Regional Director To every woman who has led this region with vision, courage, and an unwavering commitment to service, we honor you. Your legacy lives in every sister who carries this work forward. The Power of Us begins with the power of those who came before us. 🩷💚 #akaserc #akasoutheastern #sercmagic #aka1908 #powerofus

Last night, the South Eastern Region gathered to honor the heart of this region: its leadership. “The Magical Power of SER Leadership” brought together the women who pour into this organization every single day, from chapter presidents to committee chairs to the sisters who show up quietly and consistently. It was an evening of gratitude, reflection, and celebration, complete with a powerful conversation about South Eastern’s vision and direction, special presentations, and a toast to the collective strength that defines this region. The evening also featured the soulful sounds of Charles “CC” Carter, a Mississippi-based musician and entertainer with over 30 years in the industry. A multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and community servant, CC brought the energy and the elegance that the occasion deserved. Shades of green filled the room. Purpose filled the spirit. And the 94th South Eastern Regional Conference is officially underway. 🩷💚✨ #akaserc #akasoutheastern #aka1908 #sercmagic #powerofus

With the @akasoutheastern 94th Regional Conference taking place in Birmingham this week, its sorority sisters are assembling hundreds of Power Packs filled with meals and snacks for local children, including Birmingham City Schools scholars. Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Pack (CHIPP) is part of AKA’s Empower Our Families initiative. It is designed to provide weekend and holiday meals for children in local communities who may not have reliable access to food outside of school days. #successstartshere 🍜🍓🧀
