Your walk with God will produce encounters and experiences that are personal and must remain personal.
Trying to doctrinize your personal encounters and experiences will breed unimaginable errors and misalignments.
Today, we learnt about the element of intimacy and the importance of building a genuine relationship with God. We were reminded that intimacy with God starts with hunger, a deep desire for the things of the Spirit and a longing for fellowship with Him.
The message emphasized that we must pursue God intentionally. Using The Holy Bible, we learnt that God reveals Himself to those who truly seek Him. Hunger, thirst, and desperation for God are signs of a heart that genuinely desires intimacy with Him. Love requires a response, and our desire for God must move beyond words into pursuit.
We also learnt about the importance of stillness. In the midst of busy schedules, noise, and distractions, believers must learn to retreat and spend quality time with God. Moments of retreat are not meant to be filled with phones or social media, but with intentional fellowship, listening, praying, and waiting on God.
Meditation was also highlighted as a key part of intimacy. Through meditation, we learn to stay focused, avoid distractions, and become more sensitive to God’s voice. Stillness helps us concentrate not just in prayer, but also in our walk with God daily.
Finally, we were reminded that intimacy requires sacrifice. Building a deeper relationship with God will demand our time, attention, consistency, and sometimes letting go of distractions or comfort. True intimacy costs something, but it is always worth it.
Today’s service was a reminder that God still desires closeness with His people, and we must remain hungry and intentional in seeking Him.
