Here are three common problems lash techs face when doing anime lashes 🤔👇🏽
1. Lack of Structure (Poor Mapping):
Many lash techs struggle because they don’t map the set properly. Anime lashes require intentional placement of spikes and layers, not random application. Without a clear map, the set can look uneven or chaotic instead of styled and intentional.
2. Overcrowding or Too Few Spikes:
A big issue is either adding too many spikes or not enough. Too many spikes can make the set look messy, while too few can make it lose the “anime” effect. The balance between soft base lashes and bold spikes is key.
3. Weak Contrast Between Base & Spikes:
Anime lashes rely on contrast. If the difference between the base set and spikes isn’t strong enough (length, curl, or thickness), the look won’t stand out. Many artists struggle with creating that clear, defined separation that gives the anime effect its signature pop.
