This week I had the privilege of acting as a judge for the @theoneshowawards of the @theoneclubforcreativity . What a daunting, scary, exhilarating, and rewarding experience. I hope to have contributed to the process… I was sorrounded by a dream team. @debbiemillman , an eternal gratitude for your leadership, insights, and ever-welcoming attitude to make sure the deliberations were carried out with the uttermost integrity, objectivity, and fairness. It’s an honor to have collaborated with you in this way (and for the opportunity to be amongst this group). @emilyoberman , my celebrity sighting of the week 🤣, you are just so special. It was a pleasure to get you know you and to witness how you think. @teman.evans , my friend in time, wish I had met you earlier in my career. You enriched the process with the most human of traits… we all owe you. (It was also really fun to see what made you tick 😂) @mrcheewee , you brought reflection and pause to every interaction. Thank you for always reminding us the importance of context. @kecaetano , the level of attention to detail was inspiring. Brazil’s design scene is so lucky to count with you in its ranks. Your points of view were consistently enriching. @jjcharrais , you were our persistent reminder to value purpose and human impact. From meeting you, I can understand why the work for the Olympics in Paris was just so human. @sebastian.huynh , a possible design soulmate. Your passion for craft and meaning is enviable. I can’t express enough thanks for fighting for what matters. @aneripatel , I will forever envy your understanding of systems and their consistent deployments. Loved how you made meaningful connections that profoundly impacted conversations. Last, but never ever least, a special thank you to Alison Bourdon from the One Club. Your guidance and eternal patience made these three long days feel fun and enriching. In sum, I hope our paths will cross again in the future. #design #branding

Last week I had a rare opportunity to share with @newhousesu @newhouse_vis senior students at @renee_stevens class. It was a unique conversation as it made me revisit my archive and look back at the work I had done as a student (yikes!) and how it translated into some of my early professional projects. It was also emotional, as Dean Grassi and Prof Tony Golden came to see me talk. I’m extremely grateful to have had such an experience at the place where it all began. #nostalgia #OrangeForLife #IGotToSeeSnowAgain @syracuseu Photos by @dlou_design

During these past few days I had the privilege to collaborate with @ajn.0012 and @newhouse_vis students Travis Hanes, @maisywooddesign , Olivia Rucker, @megrad.designs , @caylaisrael , and craftedbyjacques in developing a new website for @inmyfatherskitchen . This exercise was carried out as part of the 12th @pixelsandprint workshop. With the motto #designforgood, @renee_stevens identifies organizations that genuinely impact the community in Syracuse, NY and pairs students with “coaches” to carry out a full system redesign in just 48 hours. We were the UX/UI team, and together with groups working in Branding, Collateral, Animation, Immersive, and Development, we offered In My Father’s Kitchen a glimpse of what they could transform into. I could have not asked for a better team. #designworkshop #pedagogy #design

If you’ve ever been to a conference or workshop with me, by now you know I don’t come empty handed. Pins, stickers, merch… For @pixelsandprint at @newhousesu @newhouse_vis I 3D printed keepsakes for all participants to later remember the event. (Good thing it was an amazing experience that it is worth remembering, hehe). While the back of the final pieces was slightly different to what’s seen in the video (production time constraints), the mixed colored palette ended up symbolizing the event’s DNA really well. #designforgood #3dprinting

One of the most frustrating aspects of pre-made ADA signage systems is that their industrial design tends to be formally bland. Usually composed of straight angles and rectangles, these frames force a brand’s visual language through printed graphics and colors. We believe in designing fully compliant ADA signs whose formal characteristics can feel expressive as well. This signage system was developed to align with the architectural design language, developed by @tandemstudiopr , for a Radiology Center. A modular construction allows for the replacing of individual plaques without removing each sign’s frame from the surface. Color is used as information to align the signs with regulations. #puertorico🇵🇷 #3dprinting #signage #graphicdesign
