Born out of jams during @amateurcult sessions, happy to announce this new EP featuring myself on bass, Chris from @acidsaurusbong on drums and @andrewjbrooksartist on bass sax. It's jazzy, rock-y stuff (call it rough jazz). We'll be debuting live at @dunbarmusicfest Friday Sept 26 7.30pm at the Royal Mackintosh Hotel. Come along its free as are all the concerts at the festival. Truly a great festival we're very excited to be a part of it.

This one was a wild ride! I was recording and mixing engineer (and bassist) for Norman Silver & the Gold's 'spectre at the feast' which eventually got released as a 7" split with the one and only Jerry A of Poison Idea! Released in the US through American Leather and in the UK through Gallivant and Punk Shocker. Was super exciting being a part of this project and helping it come to life. Mastering by the supremely awesome @audiosiege (who I'll mention in another release in a bit).

So there's a big backlog of stuff I need to post about since selling the studio... records I've worked on that have since come out... gigs I've played/been to... stuff I'm working on now... eh i was away for a bit ill get round to it... anyway this is the new account (previously secretbasementstudio) for my engineering work and music please if you're interested, welcome to keep following.
End of an era. For personal reasons, Secret Basement Studio is shutting down. I'd like to sincerely thank everyone who came through here for recording, mixing, rehearsing, strange album release parties and the occasional pre-gig dram. It's been an amazing experience running the studio and I'm extremely proud of the work I've done and the releases that have came out of this place. Some great ones still to come out! (I'll keep you posted here).
This, btw, is not the end of my saga as an engineer. The long term plan is start a new studio, but in the meantime I'll be doing some on location recording and continuing mixing. I'll also be starting an MSc in sound design and producing some more music and sound art myself. So feel free to continue following this account and I will soon turn it into a more personal engineering/musician account rather than the studio account.
