Today I released an album with 4 very special people. It’s a project that started in December 2023, so feels very good to get it out there.
These are some love letters I wrote very late at night in March. Because Lucy has taught me its a nice thing to do.
Abielle - you never cease to amaze us all. You’re the boss, you’re the dopest, you’re the coolest, and definitely most level headed badass out of all of us. How you honour people on top of being all of those is fascinating. Not to mention the stupid humour you have to put up with. I know how big a decision it was to join this band, BUT NOW LOOK AT YOU. We’re fortunate enough to receive the benefits of that and how amazing you are, so thank you.
Kieran - wow. You’re a genius. An absolute genius. I wish everyone could see what we see in the writing process of this band and what you bring. Not to mention your creative ideas outside of the music. Your constant pursuit of excellence is inspiring. It’s tough times out there for many and having this outlet for both of us has been incredible, I know you value it as much as me. Love you dude.
Sam - there wasn’t a single other option for me and Jack and wanting to start a project. Even if it meant to stupidest commute ever to make it work. You’re incredible. The feel, the creativity, the tones, the energy, it’s ALL there. You just get it. I remember the excitement I felt getting off the phone after you said yes. I knew it was meant to be. Here’s to many many years of playing together and geeking out over drum kits and outboard.
Jack - na.
Jokes. I can’t imagine a point where me and you aren’t making music. Every emotion I want to feel from making music comes from your lyrics, melodies and the way you sing them. There’s a lot to put up with from both sides and many people have seen the outcome of us both colliding, could be worth it though. Otis is the best brother in the whole world and wins, but you’re up there dude.
It’s been a very busy couple of years. But one of the things I’m most excited about is starting up a new band with my friends.
