These guys are low maintenance, don’t eat much (despite the teeth), and are excellent listeners. They’re looking for a shelf with a view and someone who appreciates a good stare into the void
We have the following blobs available for adoption:
Dino Blobs - For when you want your prehistoric pal to look slightly startled. (Including the Chickasaurus 🐥 and mushroom dinos 🍄)
Mini moon jars, for anyone looking for a particularly spherical friend. 🌝
And the classic blobs “No thoughts, just glaze” 🤗
Each one is hand-sculpted and glazed to perfection 💕
✨ Shop at the link in my bio! ✨
This shop update is for UK shipping only. Apologies to my international folks, I plan to resume international shipping once the issues with customs is resolved. ❤️
A big shoutout to our workshop attendees who were led through blob making today with the utterly brilliant - @ajceramic in the relaunched Curated Space, Bon Accord.
It was great to see how individual and original each blob was, lovely to see people of all ages enjoying this fully accessible workshop!
The concentration in the room was on point!
Big shout out to AJ and our student volunteer @katie_macmillan_art from @graysschoolofartaberdeen

It is Transgender Day of Visibility today!
I don’t usually like to post anything political on my page, however, my rights as a trans person and the rights of any trans/nonbinary/genderfluid or gender non-conforming person are currently in danger in the UK and beyond and I think it is important to speak up and share our stories!
A brief history of me…
My name is AJ and I am a trans-nonbinary person. I use they/them pronouns as this is how I feel most comfortable being referred to.
When I was in my teenage years I began to feel that something wasn’t right. Why was I so unhappy and uncomfortable all the time, even at home? I knew that there were transgender people in the world, but I had no idea that gender affirming healthcare existed! I figured that if I did change my name and gender, there would be no point because I would still be trapped in a body that didn’t reflect how I felt on the inside.
In 2020 I had lots of time for personal reflection and research because of a certain pandemic and I finally slowed down enough to recognise and process that I am nonbinary! I found out about hormone therapy and the various types of gender reassignment surgeries available. I felt like my life had suddenly opened up and I finally had the choice to be brave and live authentically as myself.
I changed my name and pronouns that same year, experimenting for a while before telling my closest friends and family, around a month before I started filming for the Great Pottery Throwdown.
The Throwdown was a brilliant experience in so many ways, but one of the most wonderful ways was getting to meet so many new people and getting to introduce myself as ME!
After the show I received hundreds of heartfelt messages from other nonbinary and trans people who had seen me on the show. There was such an outpouring of love and acceptance, I finally didn’t feel quite as alone as I did before.
I was lucky enough to be able to afford private healthcare for my hormone therapy in 2022. (continued in comments)
Huzzah! My new design was inspired by my love of gaming, cosplay, d&d and that huzzah is really fun to say 😂🗡🔥
This design is available on our website and can be purchased as a T-shirt, hoodie, aprons and more! For reference, I am wearing a grey 2xl and Celda is wearing a black 4xl as she likes it baggy 🥰
I hope you all love this design as much as I do 😁
Are there any designs you think I should do next? 🤔🎨

Another great year at @comicconscotlandaberdeen@pandjlive and we had the best time!
Dressing up isn't for everyone but for us, it's one of our favourite times of the year. Being able to let go and have fun surrounded by like minded people is such a great feeling. This year we decided to make up our own characters and just have fun designing our outfits in the lead up to the con. We had such a fun time choosing all of the elements of our outfits and expressing ourselves through costume.
Thank you to all the kind and wonderful people we met yesterday and to all of the fabulous vendors! We love to see all of the artists who have gathered for the event and the amazing work they have produced for us to spend our pennies on.
We hope you all have a great Sunday and we're already excited for next year! 💖🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️🔮🌠🍪🚀👾
I was feeling inspired by comic con, and in the lead up to it I made a new blob t-shirt design 😯👕 ✨️
It will be available very soon on my website, I will make a post about it next week! 😄

And after 20+ years later, I'm still obsessed with dinosaurs 🦕🦖✨️
Whilst clearing out my parents attic, my sibling found this! It's a story and drawing I did as a child. I always loved writing short stories, and still do infact. And I especially loved drawing!
The story says...
"You have been spooked enough. Now let me let you out. So the ghost let us out of the haunted castle, the end." 😂
My style has changed just ever so slightly 🤔😅
Hi all you cuties, Celda here! 🥰
I've been doing lots of things behind the scenes to help AJ with their wonderful business but as of this week we are now OFFICIALLY running things together. Although I might leave the making to AJ 🤭
Posting to social media isn't my absolute favourite thing to do, HOWEVER, it does mean that AJ is able to spend more time making amazing and adorable creations for you all! So I think it's worth it 💖
You may start to see Leo and I more often on here and maybe AJ if I remember... 😋
But for now, let me ask you something. What would you LOVE to see in AJ's future shop updates? Personally, I want more party dinos! They're my favourite 😍

Day 6 of Meet the Team ⭐️
Here we have AJ Simpson, one of the six co-founders of Aberdeen Ceramics Studio!
AJ graduated from Gray's School of Art in 2021 with a BA Hons in 3D Design, specialising in ceramics. In 2022, AJ won The Great Pottery Throwdown, and has since taken their practice full-time from their studio within the Deemouth Artist Studios community, based in Aberdeen.
They craft a mix of wheel-thrown and hand-built pieces. AJ enjoys exploring the novel side of ceramics through their fun ‘blob’ series of decorative one-off characters. 🦕 These creatures are inspired by AJ's love for illustration and collecting rocks as a child!
Alongside their series of small ornamental figurines, AJ fuses fun with function in their series of blob crockery which includes blob mugs, bowls, plant pots and more! Recently they have begun pushing their sculpting skills to produce larger forms in a series of dinosaur blobs which showcase bright colours and goofy expressions. ✨️
