Cover reveal: Some book worlds stay with you long after you close the pages, and the Amal universe is definitely one of them. So I am incredibly excited to help reveal the cover for the final book in this trilogy: Hafsa’s Way by Aisha Saeed.
When Amal Unbound was part of the Global Read Aloud years ago, classrooms all over the world connected with Amal’s courage and her fight for justice. That story opened doors, hearts, and conversations — and many of us have been waiting to see where this world might take us next.
This time, we meet Hafsa, a girl with a fierce dream of becoming a doctor. Getting into Bukhari Summer Science Camp should be her big break, but nothing about her path is simple. Her parents don’t believe girls should pursue medicine, the camp is expensive, and Lahore feels impossibly far away. Only with the help of her sister and brother-in-law does she finally get to go.
And once she arrives? Everything shifts. She enrolled in the wrong program by accident, she stands out for all the wrong reasons, and she’s suddenly navigating friendships, expectations, and a world that doesn’t make much room for girls like her. A field trip to the zoo — and an unexpected encounter with an elephant — begins to change her understanding of what’s possible.
Hafsa’s determination, resilience, and hope make this a powerful conclusion to a world so many readers have connected with. I cannot wait to see how this story lands in classrooms and hands everywhere.
And if you’re heading to NCTE, make sure to stop by the Penguin booth, rumor has it there will be advanced review copies available.🫰
Hafsa’s Way comes out March 10th, 2026. Here is your chance to preorder now — I know can’t wait to return to this world one last time.

With so much going wrong, I’m grateful for the small joys that keep me lifted. Like stories. Like this picture book YOU AND ME, BABY about that particular moment when your parenthood dream comes true and you hold your baby and feel…. terrified. Because somehow you are now responsible for this sweet perfect creature and who put you in charge when you have no idea what you’re doing? Inspired by my own experiences and emotions as a first time mom, I hope this book will be not only a fun read aloud for parent and child, but a reminder to new parents that we— child and parent— are in it together and we’ll learn together as we go.
Many thanks for @penguinkids and @nancyrosep and special shout out to @artsyebby for the extra special illustrations that I love so much!
YOU AND ME, BABY is available for preorder right now, please be sure to grab it for a new or expecting parent in your life 🤗
