Grateful to be part of AIRS art residency program and to share this multisensory journey with students from Tecumseh and Renfrew Elementary.
Through working with recycled paper, students engaged in an eco-conscious sensory experience rooted in touch, material exploration, and making by hand. Tearing, soaking, shaping, and assembling became ways of noticing texture, rhythm, and transformation over time.
In the slowness of making by hand, space opens for curiosity, imagination, and renewal. At a time when AI increasingly mediates our lives, artmaking holds a quiet but powerful space for presence, for sensory knowing, attunement, and connection through touch, material, and shared experience.
The works will be on view at the Vancouver School Board. Opening Tuesdays May 19th /4:30pm_7pm

🎤 Student docents will be present to share their work, with remarks at 5:00 PM.
