The Red Carousel Comes to Life 🎪🎪: Based off the house on the rock carousel! This is a dumb mash of my brain wanting to draw a ton of different elements together for the sake of it. Ash, give me an Edwardian woman, with a satyr on a dragon, a lion and a unicorn, a hare, a cat, and dancing grasshoppers. Who needs AI when I exist. (This also took so long to post. Some early renaissance character designs I did a while ago for my mini comic but planning on making random tweaks. Currently at the phase of not inconsistently drawing their faces LOL, I’ve previous been a bit all over the place imo but since sequential art is all about the repetition of the subject than I should nail it soooon. Very very Vittore Carpaccio for the fashion. I’m vaguely prepping for artfight even if I will not be as active as I previously was, tho I will try. What month is that again?

A piece done for @slantdcreative in their latest literary publication, Lore! Inspired by a section of the ungnyeo/dangun story. The bear and the tiger eating mugwort and garlic to become human; the bear succeeded and the tiger failed… I wanted to visualize a narrative “what-if” to tell a story on the extinct Korean tiger and a relation to colonialism, imperialism/capitalism, national mythos, and a lot more than I can fit in one description (frankly more than I could possibly fit in one art piece!).
I certainly could not do it without the aid of the wonderful team and editor @dan.xin !
